How do I cease 'autoplay' forever

It's really pissing me off, I don't like being interrupted while doing something just becuse I put in a cd 5+seconds ago, can someone help, I've set everything to 'Take no action' but never the less when I put a game or any disc in, autoplay still kicks in. I've windows xp here, does holding down shift still work?
I remember I got rid of autoplay on 98 but I forget how.

yea, holding shift still works on XP.

all failing, install Virtual Machine and install XP on it and autoplay is disabled. [on both OS']

Get Powertoys for windows XP and use tweak UI to disable it forever !!

i'll second the tweak ui suggestion ^^

iirc, holding shift in windows xp brings up a "sticky keys" dialog...
left & right shift might do 2 seperate things if you hold them though

Maybe I need laser eye surgery, I downloaded Tweak ui and it's a very nice program but I don't see the setting that says Cease autoplay forever

(Why would anyone want to have their menus display slower?)
