RAW Spoilers 23/02/04

Ok I don't have the indepth reports that smiaras normally posts but basically its a lot more clear about what is going to happen at Wrestlemania after last night.

Nero's predictions look a bit more realistic too as we're going to have Stacy Keibler and Miss Jackie vs Sable and Torrie at WMXX!

We'll also have Undertaker v Kane officially after Kane came to the ring demanding a shot at his brother.

And Goldberg v Brock is going ahead with Stone Cold as the Special Guest Referee. Austin was also special guest ref in the McMahon v Bischoff match when Brock came to the ring and F5-ed Austin. Looks like its advantage Goldberg then That said I'd love to see an Austin v Brock match sometime

The McMahon v Bischoff match ended in a no contest while Victoria won the Women's Championship by defeating Jazz, Molly Holly, and Lita. Trish was in a match with Christian (which she lost) which might suggest she'll be the #1 contender at WMXX considering about the only 2 other females are already involved in a match (Stacy + Jackie)

Randy Orton defeated Val Venis
Chris Benoit defeated Batista
Rob Van Dam & Booker T defeated La Resistance

and next week Benoit and Michaels will have to team together to face Batista & Randy Orton. Wonder will they get along as when Benoit was being attacked by Evolution, Michaels came the ring to seemingly help him and Benoit's response was to put him in the crossface.

The RAW opening hits and we’re live from Omaha, Nebraska on Spike TV! Tonight, Chris Benoit wrestles Batista and the “Monday Night War Erupts” as Vince McMahon will be here, presumably to confront Eric Bischoff or something.

Lita vs. Victoria vs. Jazz vs. Molly
- This match is for the WWE women’s title and it’s a fatal fourway where eliminations occur via pinfalls or submissions. Lita eliminates Jazz after a DDT. Victoria pins Molly and eliminates her so Molly goes nuts realizing that she will lose her title and has to be restrained by the refs. Victoria ends up hitting the Widow’s Peak, pinning Lita to become the new champion. Steven Richards arrives to celebrate.

Backstage, Vince McMahon arrives along with his wrestling gear.

Backstage, Jonathan Coach informs Eric Bischoff that Vince is here, but Bischoff already knows. Christian enters and says the same thing, annoying Bischoff. Christian wants Bischoff to make a tag title match for Wrestlemania involving him and Chris Jericho. Bischoff says he doesn’t like Jericho and proceeds to book Christian into a match tonight against Trish Stratus.

Randy Orton vs. Val Venis
- This is a non-title match. Randy Orton wins after hitting the RKO.

Backstage, Stone Cold and Eric Bischoff talk. Austin comments that Bischoff looks nervous so Austin tries to pump up his confidence. Bischoff lightens up and says that Vince is paying him to live out his fantasy. Bischoff starts talking about another one of his fantasies involving Stephanie but Vince walks up and stands behind him. A furious Vince says that after he makes his Wrestlemania announcement, it won’t be a fantasy anymore; it will be a reality.

Backstage, Ric Flair and Randy Orton cheer Batista on as he gets ready to wrestle Chris Benoit tonight. Triple H enters the room and says that he has something to say and he wants the others in the ring to hear it.

Triple H takes the mic and says that he freaked out when he found out about the triple threat match. But then he thought about it and realized that everyone always stacks the odds against him. Triple H then talks about possibly losing his title, whether it will be “game over” and then answers it himself, saying no, because he’s the Game and that damn good, etc. This prompts Chris Benoit to come out and Triple H challenges him to show them how tough he is so Benoit enters the ring with a chair in hand. He’s blindsided by Batista though and all three Evolution members then proceed to beat him up until Shawn Michaels comes in for the save. As Evolution scatters, Michaels turns around only to run into the Crippler Crossface. Stone Cold comes out to address the situation. He says the Benoit vs. Batista match must go on and if any of the Evolution interferes, they will not make it to Wrestlemania XX.

Batista vs. Chris Benoit
Batista misses his powerbomb, so Benoit counters it into the Crippler Crossface, making him submit to pick up the victory.

Backstage, Stone Cold calls Eric Bischoff pathetic and says he has three choices: 1. He can walk out and get fired, 2. He can go through with the fight and Vince will still fire him and 3. He can go out there and turn into the Bischoff of old.

Booker T & Rob Van Dam vs. La Resistance
Van Dam and Booker T win after RVD hits the Five Star Frog Splash on Rene Dupree.

We see photos of a battered Mick Foley and JR says that his interview with Foley is next.

Trish Stratus vs. Christian
Christian pretends to lay down for Trish, but then kicks out at two before slapping her ass and nailing her with a clothesline. He then helps her up and puts her in the Walls of Jericho. Oh I should mention that Jericho isn’t here tonight cause he’s hurt. Trish taps out but Christian doesn’t let go, asking her where her boyfriend is now.

Backstage, Trish is helped by officials.

Coach knocks on Eric Bischoff’s lockerroom. Bischoff emerges and says that he’s not worried since he’s beaten Vince before when he was with WCW. Bischoff says that Vince may have won the battle over the years, but tonight, he’s going to win the war.

Next week, Shawn Michaels and Chris Benoit will team up to take on Batista and Randy Orton.

Vince McMahon Interview
Before McMahon can get to what he said, Stacy Keibler and Miss Jackie come out with a request. They want to prove that they are hottest two divas in WWE and they want to prove it at Wrestlemania 20. Vince suggests they prove it tonight so Stacy says alright and starts doing cartwheels while Jackie rubs up against Vince who asks them to stop. Vince then books Miss Jackie and Stacy vs. Sable and Torrie of Smackdown! in the first ever Playboy tag team Evening Gown match. At this moment, Kane’s music hits and out he comes and Vince ends up confirming Kane vs. Undertaker at Wrestlemania too and says that at that time, someone will finally rest in peace. Finally, Vince announces Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar for Wrestlemania so Stone Cold comes out and asks to be the special guest referee. Vince agrees but he wants to see how Austin handles himself in his upcoming match against Bischoff.

Vince McMahon vs. Eric Bischoff
Eric comes out and they sort of fight a little. Bischoff tries some karate kicks but Vince catches him and Stone Cold breaks it up and then punches Vince. Bischoff again goes back to the martial arts kicks but Vince clotheslines him and starts choking him out. Vince chases Eric around the ring, catches him and starts choking again. Austin remains in the ring and from behind, Brock Lesnar sneaks up on him and hits the F-5! Lesnar stands over Austin as the show ends.

I don't see the point of the Vince/bischoff feud either, excpet to sell DVD's. THe only other thing I can think of and this is my opinion and has no factual basis. Is that there is speculation that the WWE are setting up a third brand. An angle might be that Vince fires Bischoff or Bischoff leaves and takes some wrestlers and establishes this third brand, maybe with the backing of Shane or Stephanie.

As for the gimmicks I think that on the Smackdown side there is speculation that there will be a battle royale for the cruiserweight title. There is a triple for the Heavyweight title and there will be a meaningless tag match with RO/Batista vs rock and sock. An actual Intercontential title match or battle royale involving a load of superstars would have put a load of people in the show.

As for the tag belts they are becoming meaningless on both sides, Booker T and RVD have them just to have something to do!

When they were in the office chattin they even had the same pose goin on as the cover of the dvd!
