    Can anyone tell me what the story is concerning getting classic insurance?

    ive been told its 25 years by some people and 30 by others...losing the plot!

    Depends on the insurers definition, but I think it's usually 20 yrs. Seems to be what Carole Nash have as well:

    What they don't say on this page, and I believe is usually the case, is that a classic car has to be your second car (i.e. you already own and insure a main car), and may also have to be garaged, depending on value.

    AFAIK its 20 years old for classic insurance and the 30 year old classification is for vintage although this normally applies to the taxation of the vehicle moreso than the insurance. what classic r u insuring?

    You have to hold:

    -full driving license
    - current policy for some other car with you as main driver

    before they give you classic insurance
