Since NTL are going to drag their heels (they ran out of funds), and Eircom are idiots, I suggest you move to limerick, where Chorus offer 24 X 7 wireless 1 Meg connection for 80 quid a month. Might be a solution for the bias in UL with that stinking firewall. All you need is line of site to Keeper Hill ...which when last I looked Plassey has. One house share a line etc etc...

    More info at http://www.chorus.ie/powernet.html

I am not too sure but I believe that it is also available in Cork.

Me mate has it at home and it works a treat.

    don't mind him slydice,

this is just how players with a REP like to trip off on other less known players. usually if you can get them down off there high horse for long enough they turn out to be sound enough blokes. minute they hit a lan or the boards though, power goes to their heads and they end up just sounded like sado's.

P.S. SER, WHO CARES WHAT YOU THINK...N STUFF!!!

chorus would look good, but i hear theres a 3gb download limit? i didn't get the actual info in cork, so i dunno if thats all over the country. you would have to pay for anything you download over that amount.

creative, could you tell me if there is still a download limit on the residential package? (£40/£50 per month one) It sounds like a really nice deal, except for that download limit =(

All i can give you are the facts that he gave me....as i havent talked to Chorus myself.

you made reference to a 40/50 quid package above.....I know he pays 80...so it could well be that he is on a completely different package...hence differnt upload/download restriction?!?!

on a side note and the future of ADSL through Eircom....dont even think about holding you breath.. http://www.voltapublishing.com/cgi-bin/news/index.cgi?ref=browse&f=view&id=979559729212120152110&block=

right. Been on the phone to chorus. This is the story:

    Residential Installation:
    150 installation cost.
    40 quid per month.
3 gig limit on Downloads - 2p for every meg above that.
At least 128Kbits upto 512Kbits depending usage.

Teleworker Package: (collies mate prolly has this)

    150 installation
    79 a month
    6 gig limit
    128kbit to 512Kbit download speed

any1 know a program to log the amount of data downloaded to pc ?
any1 know how to hack wireless internet smile.gif

So it's over between us Daire? How could you, after all the sweet nothings you've whispered in my ear? You used me, and then abandoned me, you b***ard *sniff*.

    Adieu,
