Female Singers

I wanna start listening to more female vocalists. My current faves being Karen O from the Yeah yeah yeahs, Aimee Echo from HWP/the Start, Courtney love and Skin.
Can anyone recommend any good female vocalists/bands with female singers?

Dolores O'Riordan has a fabalous voice and so does the singer from Evanescence. Don't know her name.

I saw that on TV about 2 weeks, and couldn't really be sure whether it was a man or a woman

Also not entire I'd call her a "singer," more a vocalist.

Courtney Love is good, although a bit abrasive, as is Brody from the Distillers. If you want a bit smoother, Melissa Auf der Maur can sing but unfortunately her album is pretty crap, only has one or 2 good tracks.

Best metal album with a female lead singer is definitely Sing Sing Death House by the Distillers. If you don't have your own means of getting it you can buy a download version for $10 from www.audiolunchbox.com which works out at about €8.20 thats to the very nice exchange rate...

Arch Enemy, Sinergy, and Nightwish would be my three favourites, however early Arch Enemy stuff had a male singer, and he was excellent too.
