Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

How exactly does it work? I'm going to America soon and want to bring my phone. It's a Sony Ericsson K700i and, from the internet, I know it has triband (I dunno what the means exactly) but I don't know how to get it working. Does it automatically work once over there? Do I have to get a new sim card over there? Any help would be much appreciated!

It should work automatically, subject to you having roaming enabled by your mobile company here.

Who are you with and is it unlocked?

Yes - as long as you check with whoever you are with (O2/Vodafone/Meteor/3) that roaming is enabled. It is usually is, but it is worth checking.

No. Your current sim card will work over there. All you have to do is switch on your phone - no settings, no messing, nothing.

Remember, though, you will be charged to receive calls as well as make calls.

Cheers so I don't have to change network or anything crazy like that?! I'm with meteor and just about to check up on the roaming thing. I doubt it's enabled for me. Roaming isn't a special 'price plan' or anything that you need to switch too?? I'm Pay as you go meteor, so would I just top up normally when in America? I suppose I could buy a top up receipt and then top up while in America if needed.

Simple thread really! Im off to the States in November for 2 weeks. I have an 087 phone and its registered to roam...will it work and pick up the local network when I touch down???

    Thanks :)

You have to have a tri-band phone but otherwise it will be fine.
You won't get reception immediately but it will kick in after a few minutes

if you have one available you are better to go with a Quad band phone if you can, i've merged your question in with a relevant thread, read it from the start for more info.
