    Hi all,

Theres a group of us (about 5 or 6) planning on spending the summer and possibly longer in edinburgh. I was wondering if anyone has been there and could point us in the right direction with respect to jobs, accomodation, nightlife etc.

    Thanks

just went there for a weekend a few weeks back, fantastic place! cold, but great atnosphere...the royal mile is full of great pubs and stuff as is grassmarket. there's plenty of good nightlife, and its a beautiful city. i remember finding links to a lot of apartments that are short/long stay - do a search in google you will probably find something,

    this site's quite cool

A mate of mine is living over there at the moment but he's in college accomadation, although he has to find a gaf for next year.

He says stay on the high side of princess street (main street) as down below it is expensive. Accomadation is roughly £50 - £60 a week, now you might find cheaper but it aint a cheap place to live.

If you do go over check out "Farm Foods", really cheap supermarket better than Aldi or Lidl.

Drink can be cheap enough when theres offers on but on the royal mile (which is the tourist spot) you cpuld be paying up to £2.60 for a pint of Tennants.

In less nice surroundings you could get it for £1 - 1.50
