    For completely straight journalism, try Hells Angels. HST is probably the most moderate person in it :)

    Rum Diaries is good awlright...

    Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail is great if you dig American politics... which I do...

    My personal favourite is The Great Shark Hunt... it takes the best of his journalism from the 50's through to the 70's and it is HUGE so represents good value too!

    Fear and Loathing... and Hells Angels would generally be the two recommended reads

    I guess no-one ever got around to writing a novel based on the pilot of Nash Bridges:D
