I went to the Phantom fm website and it said the the station is broadcast on 97.3fm but I cant tune it in on my radio. Are they just broadcasting over the internet now or something? If you know what frequency they are broadcasting on could you post it up her or if you know whats goin on with the station could you post it up here too.

    Thanks

Just on the internet for the moment pending a proper application for a licensed station.

Will it be a national station if they are given the licence?

the have been broadcasting on the net for some time now. They did have a temporary licence (30 hours broadcasting time i think) and were on 97.3, they ran from saturday morning to sunday night for a few weekends.

Im not too sure if they will be succesful with this application, the last licence of this sort went to Light FM or Dublins Country ffs, when will they realise that there are people below the age of forty that dont drive taxis!!!

    just for dublin..
Phantom FM. has welcomed the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland’s (BCI) decision to licence two further radio services for Dublin. Phantom FM will be a leading a consortium that will submit an application for the “Alternative Rock” type service under the name of ‘Phantom FM’ when applications are invited by the BCI.

Nicely they've doubled the bitrate on their internet stream, going from 20k to 40k
