office 2000 install problems

    Been having trouble installing office 2000 on a XP home edition machine. Gets about half way through the install process and boom, says it can't access Hkey_local_machine/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/run/optionalcomponents/msfs

    Had a look at it, no msfs key there at all, won't let me create one either (or delete the optional components folder)

    Any ideas what a solution to this might be? (asides from reinstalling)

    Grateful for any help!
