i think that that was a very poor decision on the part of the mod, the punishment should fit the crime, perhaps a temp ban from using PM's would be more appropriate?

Your totally missing the point. unless you show genuine remorse any time soon, not only will you stay banned but people in general will peg you for a muppet for a while to come.
Dissing the mods will do you no favors either.

No, Michelangelo has explained his case more than enough.
The mod in question and Jank are the ones at fault imo.
If someone abuses you in the pub , you do not go up to the barman and say "Excuse me , that bloke holdin the vodka martini just abused me"
And the barman does not bar people for such offences OR ask them to say "sorry".
If the guy starts screamin abuse in public' ie. not a pm. then its a matter for the mods.

Personally I think it is ridiculous that he has been banned.. I too have been banned on one occassion from the Soccer forum for abusing Jank. The man/boy is incredibly childish and arrogant. His comments and opinions alone are responsible for the abuse he recieves. Supporters of the same club as Jank (Arsenal) agree with my sentiments and like me, feel he is the reason they have stopped participating in the Soccer forum.

I think the boards users that have been on the end of Janks comments should compile a single file of these comments and highlight them to the Admins. I personally don't believe in such messures but Jank has sunk to this level already and should be treated in the same way as he behaves!!

Talk about an over the top reaction! I confess I have been on the verge of giving jank a good rollicking on quite a number of occasions yet despite following the last posters advice and complaining to the mod nout was done.

It seems that every once in a while jank decides to step out from behind the mod in question and fire off a salvo or two and then jump back. I have personally avoided the soccer forum of late due to his intolerable post style.

Michelangelo I say fair play to ya son ! Say it like it is and give the assO a taste of his own medecine.

I have lost count of how many last chances jank has had on the soccer forum from a certain mod yet got banned almost immediately on another forum about a certain picture.

Also, Dmt, I did report it to a mod and nothing was done about it. I also reported one of his posts previously and nothing was done. Again, I do not know for sure which post/or which thread I have reported but I know I did and yet nothing has been done.

Can an Admin please make up a decision on whether or not I can return? I have said all I need to say. And it is obviously getting me nowhere.
