UTV proxy banned by slashdot?

    tried to connect to slashdot.org. Said the proxy server had attempted to crash slashdot and had been banned from accessing the site? o_O wtf.

    Slashdot worked fine for me with the UTV proxy on.

    What Proxy IP and port are you using? mine is 195.218.116.8 port: 3128, I also switched that to port 80 but again there was no problems.

    I;m on clicksilver. Not using the proxy. Any advantage in using it ?

    No, unless you are having problems with some websites (boards.ie, Hotmail and ebay to name a few)

    Well I know they do this for anyone subscribing to their news feeds. You are only allowed refresh the feeds every few hours, else they ban you.

    Tried the proxy - same for me - banned.

    probably because the proxy is caching so many pages (as stated in the text when blocked access).

    UTV have fixed the proxy issue (at least for me) now so no need to use it anymore.
