Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ronaldo was different class 2day. City won! Go on The Gunners. Utd were in my opinion lucky to win the premiership of the way Arsenal fooked up but Utd won't win anything this season but with their financial power they'll be right up with Arsenal next season.

This thread is being slightly steered off topic

Anyway, fair play to Man City, a good day for there fans

  • Registered Users Posts: 553 ✭✭✭phenom

well done to city, they played ok but i thought united should have scored a few in the first half.

Good goal by Wright Philips he is going to be a good player when he gets older.

As a united supporter the premiership is gone as far as we are concerned.:( they will have to work alot harder to win the fa cup.

Thats a 12 point gap now? Thats just unattainable I think.

However Chelsea might try and pip it.
If Man United beat Arsenal, thats only a 6 point gap.

One defeat could really shake Arsenal up, and mmake them slip up again

if they field unregistered players or fail to fulfill a fixture they'll be docked points
they could be caught that way

How exactly is it possible that they would do that?
By that logic arsenal could be caught aswell

Thats a big ask the way Utd are defending at the moment. Rios appeal is on friday and IF he comes back it would increase our chances but even so the way Arsenal are playing it would still be a big ask.

The title is now between Chelsea and The Gunners unless they both have an almighty bad run which is unlikely to happen.

well Exeter and Scunthorpe were docked two points each for not playing their Division 4 fixture back in the 1973/74 season.

arsenal have to drop 13/30 points for utd to win it. thats at least 4 defeats and 1 draw, plus utd must win all of their games.

now im an optimistic person but that just ain't gonna happen. im starting to think chelsea actually have a good chance now. they've a fairly easy run in with manu and newcastle both away the only major hurdles.

i still believe arsenal will lose at least one game, if chelsea can keep their heads down and keep nicking victories ive no doubt they'll be very close to arsenal.

interesting tie on the 8th of may, 2nd last day of the season away to manu. personally, if they still have a chance, i'd be willing to turn a blind eye to that result. ;) i dont like the way arsenal, in particular henry think they've won it already.

look at henry, always faking cool, calm reactions after goals. strolling back from offside positions waving to fans whilst signing autographs. ok im exaggerating but id much the prefer the title to go to chelsea than arsenal .

    COME ON YE BLUES........:D

Logically yes Arsenal can be caught but the way they are playing does anybody actually think they will be. I for one think they wont.

I Still kinda fancy Utd to beat Arsenal in the game at Highbury. Just have a feeling. I know its no excuse but Utd were missing a lot of first team players today that will/could be back by the Arsenal game such as Keane, Neville, Rio, Saha etc.

That shouldn't and will not happen. The players are professionals and will go out an try win every game. To do anything else would make a mockery of the league and bring shame on the club.

It doesn't really concern me who wins it if united doesn't but whoever it is should do so on their own merits without assistance from anyone else. I,m not sure if i would like to see Chelsea overtake the Gunners because as much as I dislike Arsenal I have to admire the team they have built with the resources available to them. I can't say that for Chelsea.

scholes is outstanding, always free for a pass, then plays it on simply. van the man is doing a superb job holding up the ball, very strong. there's no need to change things for utd, its only a matter of time before they get another goal or 2.

utd have had a dose of bad luck in the past 2 games, simple as that.

Smemon, stick with it kid, you're a reaaal loser...

My Aston Villa supporting mate stuck a tenner on City to win 3-1 and Fowler to score first...

    Oh dear....

I knew these Utd supporters who, after years of plentiful bounty, one day woke up to find out they were a pretty average team...

    Oh dear....

I once knew some arrogant over-confident morons who couldn't see their defensive frailities...

    like this for instance...

real constructive post there, you actually took time to quote and edit my previous post and then add your own soccer realted comment. ;)

utd played well in the first half and there was no need for changes. unfortunately my crystal ball couldnt predict the 2nd half correctly, utd were unlucky with the result, they deserved to lose but not by 3 goals.

Hooray for that. I don't know who I dislike more - the Utd fans, the new 'breed' of super-arrogant Arsenal fan, or the run-of-the-mill muppet? Life's choices are so hard these days...

    Mr Angry,

killah_b is a city fan i believe so he has a right to be smug today, and I seem to remember that utd fans being the first set of fans to copyright the term super arrogant !

As for AFC fans - well watching football like that every week it would be hard not to be a bit full of yourself ??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,312 ✭✭✭mr_angry

Yeah, but there's being smug, and being downright offensive. In some ways, other fans can be even more arrogant than the Utd fans, purely because they revel in the chance to gloat on the rare chance that they get it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,458 ✭✭✭✭gandalf

mr_angry I would be very careful from now onwards what you cheer about. I don't like to see someone gloating over another user being banned. Next time keep it to yourself ok !!

yeah its hard not to love every single second of utd's demise, watching them dominate for ten plus years has made most people sick,

i am a gooner but having sat through years of players like gus caeser, perry groves and a midfield of david hiller and john jensen and finishing eleventh behind spurs i will admit the smugness creeps in now and again. I dont want to see utd fall altogether as the battles betweem the sides are brilliant, and of course the Wenger VS ferguson thing and especially the fracas as old trafford this season

    passion !!

one of the reasons we all watch the game ?!!

All I can say that this has to be one of United's worst seasons, they hav'nt had a defence since Rio was banned
