Most of the time you can get away with purchasing a SCSI cable or something like that along with the OEM software.

there is NO upgrade path from XP Home to Pro. You can only clean-install. This applies to retail boxed, full & upgrade editions.

Do you really need file encrpytion and to join a domain?

I'd have thunk the same thing. The descriptions seem to confirm it, with a 'D' appended (Deutsch?)

    It is what it's.

    Dear Customer,

OEM is not in a retail box and is to be sold with PC hardware, but this can be a mouse etc.

    Best regards

That's incorrect. You can upgrade from XP Home to XP Pro, but you cannot go the other way (downgrade). Upgrade eligibility

    It is what it's.

If you're a student or the guardian of one, or a teacher, look out for the Student License or Academic Edition. That's how I got my Office2000 and Windows2000 - at massively reduced prices :)

Elara have it - I'd advise you check it out before you buy - the procedure may have changed since my purchases.

    It is what it's.

have they changed it? I remember have a bitching session with someone at M$ about the lack of an upgrade path!
