Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Does any one know where you can get an old cheap hard top for a mazda mx 5? Pref. colour would be red but if the price was good I could get it sprayed. A new costs 2000euros which is way too much for an old car.

also if any one knows where i could get a new soft top - also on the cheap - i would appreciate it!!!!!

I don't know anything about then, but they have to be cheaper than a Mazda dealer. I'd say it's unlikely that you'd pick up a hard top on the cheap.

Why do you want a hard-top?

If it is for safety, to prevent break-in's or damage to the soft-top it could be useful (probably just peace of mind though)

But be aware that many are ill fitting, and then cause more wind noise (at speed) then the soft-top. Specially at the middle of windscreen connection. In heavy rain storms I trust a soft-top more then I do a hard-top.
Also, they are not much warmer in the winter (as if it freezes much in Ireland)

And they are big and heavy to store (where will you put it if you don't own a garage?), and need two people to put on or take off.

And you will be really annoyed when you are on the road with the hard-top and it turns into a nice sunny day. You need to take advantage when you can. Nothing more silly then a closed convertible on a sunny day.

If all else fails, I;ve a jig saw, some plywood & bitumen paint. You would definately be noticed then.

Or if a mate has a scooby you could borrow the rear spoiler?
