(Probably) A Pretty Simple XP Problem

Lo all the pc in work is running xp on a dial up. problem is the situation arose lately where we had to install a new isp disc (eircom) but ever since, when we connect to the net nothing appears in the taskbar to say we are connected and when we close all the ie windows it doesnt disconnect. any ideas? cheers

go into network connections and look at the properties for the eircom connection.
check the tick box for show when connected.
