Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    http://www.play.com/play247.asp?page=title&r=PC&title=126199

I want anyone who's even remotely interested to buy this game.
It works out at €12 delivered through your letterbox, and hasve every official patch, add-on and expansion ready to go.

If you don't have a credit card I'd be up for doing a bulk order in the near future.

I've always wanted to have a dirty great big game of this and damn it, I will have my way!

Op flash is quite brilliant. If you like counter-strike, you'll love Operation Flashpoint.

I heartily endorse this product and/or service.

Only thing is, I ordered mine there yesterday, not a hope will it arrive for Friday, in time for GL lanage :/

op flash is too slow and boring.

having to take a cross country trek wearing a random shrubbery just so you can get shot by an unseen sniper isn't my idea of fun.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,817 ✭✭✭✭po0k

you're just shit at it :)

    And you shouldn't take a cross-country walk.
Hop in a jeep or a tank if you want a bit of firepower, or keep in cover if you don't want to get shot.

I got it running in wine and winex, wine gives better rsults. 3 problems though. Mouse is a bit all over the place, some of the textures act wierd, and i dont seem to be able to install the ipdates. However i was talking to the guys over on winehq, apparently alot of the problems boil down to safedisk - this copy protection thingie. which theys ay they will have cracked on the next release, so looking good. :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,958 ✭✭✭Fobia

safedisk used to be the bane of my existence, but now there's software that can easily bypass most versions of it (/me pats daemon tools and clonecd)

    nadir's talking about Linux.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,628 ✭✭✭Asok

vmware, http://www.vmware.com/ . One of their products allows you to run virtual machines on your computer, one of these can run linux if you want.

    nice link quetzal.
    But one thing.
    RE: nadir having trouble running flashpoint;
it's because he's running it under Wine/WineX under Linux natively.
VMWare/COLinux etc. aren't much use in that case as if you were to boot into windows by default so you could play games and only use Linux through VMWare/Colinux you'd be effectively getting a nice Nissan Skyline, ripping out the engine and slapping a 2-stroke 50cc engine inside it.

And besides, I'm pretty sure that Flashpoint works fairly well under Wine/WineX

I assume the VMware and Colinux posts were in response to Asok and running Loobix in the systray :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,958 ✭✭✭Fobia

yes, it had nothing to do with nadir's problems whatsoever, I had just heard of the idea of vmware at gl9 and mentioned it in a conversation, which Asok was commenting on there, so I took the time to back up my statement s'all.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,628 ✭✭✭Asok

and indeed he did back up his statements and i learned something new.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,817 ✭✭✭✭po0k
