Booted up XP the other day and i was thinking about the old sounds that used to play at log in and boot. There was one (I think it was either Win 95 or 3.1) that had a really nice startup jingle. Its long gone but I'd know it if I heard it straight away.

Anyone know where I could find archives of some of that kind of windows stuff. Windows old-school so to speak :)

    Google "Win95" "Startup.wav"

In XP Control Panel, Sounds & Audio devices, Browse, there is a file marked "Office 97" which contains some of the older sounds. Dont know if this is any help

    tada.wav

The same company spent $5 million on the rolling stones song "Start it up" to advertise the Start button. "you make a grown man cry..."
