    download speeds are mainly determined by the bandwidth of the site your downloading from, try downloading from a huge site like sun.com or microsoft.ie to test download speed

    from a ping of 70 to 170, i wouldnd normally complain, but its the easter holidays! ffs!

    Not only is it the Easter break but I've gone and grabbed UT2K4 only to end up getting pings of 250-350 on UK servers!!!:eek:, this is pure crap it's only my incredible skill :ninja: that has been saving my ass in online games - it really sucks. My pings to boards used to be 16ms they are now 150ms:mad:.

    Downloading Americas Army at the mo on UTV, ok its not IOL and this is an IOL thread, but im getting 53KB/sec which is pretty good considering all these problems that are going on. Still pinging in the 220's tho with Irish Battlefield vietnam servers.

    i dunno, the net went down at 1:47am, rebooted machine for unrelated reasons, got coffee, came back and those were the ping results..

    Dude, the pings are fine early in the day/small hours of the morning. It's the peak hours that are the problem.

    I set up an MRTG script last night to log latency on the first hop. Apart from the odd spike it was much improved this evening.
