    Esat raises concerns on deadline for single billing

    Eircom rival Esat BT has raised concerns that Wednesday's deadline for the introduction of line rental single billing for non-Eircom customers will be missed.

    Una McGirr, a spokeswoman for Esat BT, said there were fears in the industry that the issues would be "fudged".

    "There is a big concern that single billing is still far, far away from being ready," McGirr said. She said there were issues over the quality of the product being proposed by Eircom, as well as the margin being charged, and service and directory enquiries issues.
