Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I like the man and what CFC are doing to him is pure wrong

    No

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,744 ✭✭✭kleefarr

Agreed. Players and most of the fans are for him staying, but the likes of the die hard Man U supporter Kenyon have other ideas.
Its a great shame, he's doing a great job for us.
Did you post your thoughts on the link I provided? All help greatfully received. Although it maybe to little to late. No harm in trying.

The guy that owns CFC mighten be so stupid to fire him its quite clear that Ranieri has a great deal of respect from both supporters and players you don’t fire a top class man manager and a top football manager ......It makes no sense

I mean what has the guy done wrong? He’s going to come second or third in the PD and might still get though to the next round of the champions league! In one season with a bunch of players he barely knows.....Jesus that’s just terrible

Give the man 1 - 2 more seasions at least !

    and ya i posted

no and i posted on that site to show it..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,640 ✭✭✭Gillie

    No. Of course not!
The man should be left alone to do his job.
If/When they win the CL it would look really bad if they were to sack him!

Em... Kenyon is a City fan afaik.

I think Ranieri deserves at least another season.
The talk about bringing Sven in is aload of crap.
That guy is the biggest bluffer in world soccer.
I cant see what the fuss about him is.
He put Lazio 200m in debt and it took him 20 years in Italian football to win the league.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,150 ✭✭✭deadduck

i agree with everyone so far, he's done a great job with all his new players and should be given another 2 seasons to show what he can do. like bizmark said he's got a crap load of respect from the fans and this should be the deciding factor.

Dont know much about his ability as a manager. But the guy is class. His english isnt great and he loves soccer

He has being doing a great job lately
and his team are still getting to know each other.

Give him some more time i say, but he needs to buy another World Class centre half!

Desailly will be gone at the end of the season (too old)
and he will need cover for Terry and Gallas.

I hope he buys Nesta! :)

You'll have to look elsewhere for your negative United slant to this story.;)

Ranners should be given at least another two years to get his players to gel.

neither do I. I just can't understand how he got such a great reputation with the english media. I can only assume its because of beating one of the worst German sides in history. Claudio should stay. I have never heard even one Chelsea fan saying they want him out. Roman and Kenyon should stop the signings and let him work with the squad he has

  • Registered Users Posts: 67 ✭✭gudpony

    Ericcson is useless.
Ranieri should stay. He will become the best foregin manager in years to come if he stays.

I don't rate SGE either but Ranieri is getting a bit overrated, he will never become the best foreign manager in England. He pipped 4th spot from Liverpool last season by a couple of points. He still hasn't learned the English language after 3/4 years in the country. He has made some weird tactical decisions which if Houllier had done he would be shot. He has made some stupid buys when he has all the money in the world (ie. Cole, Veron), he also has one of the best goalkeepers in the premiership but still buys another world class goalie. He has bought so many players that it has to be causing a bit of frustration in the players which is not what you want if you're regarded as title contenders.

In saying all that, since RA gave him all the money he deserves the time to let the players gel.

Could I get away with Man U and Man City supporter then?;)

    Save Ranieri

No obviously. When he speaks I can understand him perfectly well too.

    Mike.

ps Erickson is not rubbish, England have lost 1 competitive game since he arrived. When Keegan walked England were bottom of the group and considered beyond hope....

I'd love for him to get sacked, then hopefully he could take over Man United after Fergie leaves.

He is an absolutely fantastic manager, and he's the ability to juggle a team of 20 billion midfielders to a place in the 1/4's vs. Arsenal(that they are very capable of winning esp. after the very tiring run Arsenal have atm), and second in the league, with a possible first place if things go his way.

It'd be so funny if he ended up winning the league and the champions league but getting fired :)

Thats a little harsh. The fact that Chelsea are now so far ahead of Liverpool shows the progress he's made in a year with all those new players. (Houllier should be shot anyway, but thats a different thread)
He was successful enough in Spain with Valencia, getting over the language probs in the process, and seems to have come a long way with his english since arriving. In any case, whats the problem with having imperfect english when managing a team who largely dont speak it themselves(?!).
Can anyone think of a manager with english, spanish, and italian who could fill that role any better?
I woudnt bet against Chelsea in either PL or CL just yet.

Erikson is totally over-rated, he's won one league title in his managerial career, that with Lazio in 2000 after they had spent more money on the squad than Abramovich has thus far with Chelsea.

Now Lazio are virtually bankrupt and don't pay their players half the time. Also, Erikson encouraged the likes of Sinisa Mihailovic, and through him the the fascist Ultras who are now up to antics like having the derby called off last week.

Abramovich is treating Chelsea like a toy rather than a football club, Chelsea could well end up in a Leeds-like situation in five years.

I think thats what Kenyon's been brought in to ensure against. He succeeded in bringing in big buys at ManU and still "helped turn the club into the most financially secure in the world and the biggest brand in football." according to these guys..... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/3091546.stm

I think everyone appreciates him, my comments were in reply to someone saying he will be the best foreign manager, I can't see it happening.

BTW - you can hyperlink it in you sig. Just do the same as you would in a normal post using these tags: [html] [/*html] , don't include the star though.

I think any club in England would be grateful to have Ranieri. The only reasons his talent is being questioned is the pressure of expectation from investment. Blackburn bought their way to the PL a few years back, but it did take a couple of seasons.

Exactly! A couple of seasons at least. Its rediculous to think it can be done straight away in the first season, although it would have been nice. ;)
There has been improvement constantly and we expect that it will only get better given time.

    Viva Ranieri
