    Quick check on file-ext.com.
    Comes up with this:

DCA = IBM DisplayWrite : Document Content Architecture text file
DCA = MS Active Designer cache
DCA = Visual Basic : Active Designer Cache

Fairly sure its used by something else, can't for the life of me rememeber though...

    Sorry.

    Hi again!

I've got tonnes of .DCA files on the file server. Some machines here open them up fine with Word, but other machines dont have a clue and if I do open it up with Word, its all gobbledeguke. I seen that on one of the machines that opens the files correctly, -has an option in the 'Save As' for RFT-DCA...

I'm guessing its an addon for word but I dunno where I can get it from :(

Looks like you need the "Microsoft Office Converter Pack":
    http://www.microsoft.com/office/ork/xp/welcome/depf04.htm

This pack handles the RFT-DCA format.

But note: "The converter pack for Office 2003 also works for Office 97, Office 2000, and Office XP, whose converter packs have been retired."

I am not sure the pack for Office 2003 handles the RFT-DCA format...

    I've never heard of .DCA

Reply back and let us know if you find out what app creates that extension.

    Cheers.

When you open the files in word, what are the first two or three letters in the document?

    It is what it's.
