Can't get the NG either pings to jolt 230ms .........

Below is a reply I got recently after a series of complaints re. slow speeds etc. Approx 8 days after 4 or 5 emails,

"Please make a list of all faults that you have with your sevice, then phone us on our lo-call numbers below and ask to speak to a manager or supervisor. If there are any telephone exchange issues that we know of that may affect your service, these will be given to you - if there are no known issues regarding your telephone exchange the manage or supervisor may request an Eircom engineer to go on site to see if there is a problem with your line.

It's important that you do inform us by phone of all faults, this way we will know if there appears to be a problem with the telephone exchange as we'll get many calls from people who are also on the same exchange (this is a very good indicator to UTVi), we then have evidence to suggest that an Eircom telephone exchange may be experiencing problems. From time to time we do have problems, everyone does with computer systems - if we know there is a fault with one of our systems we are honest and will admit this, if the problem is outside the UTVi systems we have to rely on external providers being honest and getting the issue sorted.

If you're haing slow connections, other customers too may be having slow connections - it's very important that these are phoned into us - we can take imediate action then!"

The mind truly boggles! It may be the first 'new age' support type reply and its so full of insights - if your having a slow connection, other customers too may be having slow connections - its almost touching!!!! I can imagine someone reading it slowly and sincerely maybe Daniel O'Donnell like while maybe a mandolin plays gently along.
And all that emphasis on honesty and admitting when something is wrong .....

Are we all preparing ourselves for the "big bang"? My pings have been slowly crawling up over the last hour. I can sense that the inevitable is not so far off!!

I dont wanna put a jinx on things but Clicksilver has really improved over the last few days. I've been getting pings that I havent seen in weeks and download speeds are excellent. Gamespot DLX is giving me around 52.2KB/s, very impressive! Has anybody else notice the improvement?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 959 ✭✭✭kin9pin
