Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

arsenal got to big headed. they thought they could win the chapions league and the fa cup but they didnt so now they might not be as confident and they also might lose the premiership.

    poor wenger.:)

Anyone remember last summer? Wenger told us the best team had won the FA Cup, and finished adrift of the PL champions. . . . if United can win 4 of the last 5 PL's, and only one of those winning seasons is considered not to be a dissapointment ('99), then I think its time for this "great" team of Wenger's to accept a few home truths about underachievement. Even if they do hang onto that top spot, considering the expectations and arrogance, they've flopped again when it mattered.

i thought arsenal were the better team first half and chelsea the second half

edu and henry were absolutley pathethic. for all the stick he gets gilberto does his job without much style but he does a damn good job of breaking up opposition possesion and making simple passes something edu managed to make a mess of constantly against chelsea and utd. henry looks weary and fatigued hopefully this hamstring injury will let him rest and he will be back on form for the last few games of the league. reyes looked excellent, i think he will be the star of arsenal next season.

i still think we will beat chelsea to the league. people are getting carried away with themselves as always. two games lost is not the end of the world.

milan will win the champions league

Ah, welcome to the Bitchfest that is the Soccer Forum!

Can I make a suggestion to the mods? How about renaming the Soccer Forum "Arsenal - v - Man Utd."??? Because that's all any thread ever ends up about.

Either that or T4TF - v - The Muppet. It's been mentioned before and I'll say it again, it's getting a little bit sad the way T4TF attacks everything that The Muppet posts. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that everything that The Muppet says is gospel, far from it, but it is getting extremely childish especially for a Mod.!!

It' just getting extremely fustrating every time I log onto the Soccer Forum and I have to trawl through pages and pages of "he said, I said" tripe!! FFS it's a soccer discussion board not a courtroom!!!!

Anyway, as seen as nobody else mentioned it, what about Duff's chance in the first half. The build up play was pure class. Especialy considering that for the 10 mins leading up to it Lauren was hacking him down every time he had the ball!

And the amount of space Arsenal had on the left wing in the first half was shocking, pires almost cut himself a trench up the wing the amount of times he got past the Chelsea midfield. But the Chelsea defence was rock solid, they seemed to get themselves of nearly every ball that was hit at goal. Terry is a legend.

I am absolutely delighted for Chelsea especially Ranieri, and it'll be great to see an Irish man in the Semi's.
Apparently Abramovich made a statement today about his team's great performance. Bit of a first there. Although he didn't say anything about Ranieri.......no surprises there!!!!!

Wow, what a 2nd half display from Chelsea or was it a total flop from arse, 2 big games and a serious amount of bottlers on the team.
Lehmann messed up again, he is turning into a liability at this stage, would not agree about Viera, thought he played well, I think the biggest let downs for arse was Henry, who seems to be acting like a spoiled kid, if it is not goin his way then he stands up.
Pires was not at the races, think his age is catching up, if he spent more time trying than he does spinnin around in the air and looking for free kicks, he would suit the team better.
Reyes I thought played well, a good prospect for the future.
Campbell was top notch, when you look at it the best players for all teams were English, not a coincidence.

I am delighted for Raneiri, the tears in the mans eyes at the end were proof of how much he loves football.

Not much word out of Arse whinger, put him back in his box.

My treble bet for arse is gone out the window, not to worry!
If things keep going they might even finish in 3rd, what a shame that would be.

Now for scous and Newcastle to beat them over the weekend. Wonder will Henry fake an injury and wimper away???

Also will Queiroz now be sacked leaving the door open for arse to go to Madrid??

Anyway well done Chelsea, hope they go all the way now.
arse, what they say about counting eggs??

    :p

Henrys out for a few games with hamstring trouble.

I would love to see queiroz back at United if he gets the chop at Real.

What a week of CL football! The results from Tue and Wed night are just typical of the sport and show once again that nothing can ever be taken for granted. The Arsenal v Chelsea game was entertainment all the way. It was played at a frenetic pace with both sides wanting to score. It was a close match throughout in my opinion with little to separate the sides. Such are the vagaries of football - if Arsenal would have won it they would be revered as champions-elect, especially given the way the other ties have gone. Arsenal are now seen as weakened force and in a slump. Chelsea will feel that they have a chance of winning the CL.

What clearly affected Arsenal of course was their loss against Man U. That was a psychological blow for the team, coming at the wrong time and not allowing any time for recuperation in a very packed fixture list. I discussed on another thread that Wenger’s face on Monday told the story. Arsenal have had trouble in other years in dealing with these types of things and so far they are not doing well. I was appalled by the poor analyses given by both the UTV and TV3 pundits who were claiming how well Arsenal had done. It sounded like they had played them off the park and I was wondering were these guys watching the same game? OK, Arsenal were much stronger on the left hand side and exploited Melchiot’s positioning, but they didn’t create many threats with that possession and the goal came from the right side. Reyes’ shot actually went through two pairs of legs – so there was fortune in the goal. There was equal fortune in Lampards equaliser as it was clearly the fault of Lehman. Arsenal’s lack of a world-class goalkeeper is something that I have pointed out in another thread. Now it remains to be seen if Arsenal can recover their composure. It is Liverpool’s fortune to catch Arsenal so weak, and I guess Arsenal’s fortune to play a team such as Liverpool who can have a hard time beating a Wolves. Chelsea have their tails up and should string some league wins together unless the CL distracts them. They have the capability of beating Monaco.

What a result Monaco had against Real Madrid. Once again Madrid’s failed strategy of attack and no defence has caught them out, against “lesser” opposition. Madrid did come close to pulling it out of the bag, but with just a small investment in the back line they could put together a much better team. What a fiasco over the Morientes loan. Heads will roll at Real but it is too late.

And the shocks continue with the knock-out of AC Milan top the hands of Deportivo. Milan made errors with their team selection and strategy perhaps but it was a very good team performance for Deportivo, who now play their neighbours Porto. Chelsea have a chance – is it their turn to bottle it?
