    Lo all,

Need to get my hands on a few 1amp 12volt fuses for delicate marine equipment.

Anyone have any idea who would stock these?
I exhausted the motor factors I know.

Using a 1Amp 240volt would be wrong, correct? That would allow 20 amps through on a 12volt load?

    P.s. I'm in Cork .

    Thanks, James

Theres a big marine supply place in Cork on the North Quay - its on Prenrose Quay by the first turn across the river. Thats where I'd try.

Just remembered its name! the http://www.unionchandlery.com/menu.shtml

Fuses are rated on current - heating effect is I squared R - ideally there should only be a very small voltage drop across them - so you should be able to use the mains fuses at 12V. Low voltage fuses can't be used at mains voltage because of risk of arcing and they just don't have the insulation for it.

You could drop in to Peats and ask them or Maplin (don't bother asking)
