How do you make them? Does anyone know, I have been asked by my club to make one for them... I'm looking to make one on my pc but I am useless at photoshopping and all that.

    Any suggestions?

if you take the dublin crest ...

its just one castle instead of three...

    old

    new
    crest.jpg

    just use local famous locations...

post up the crest that your club is using at the minute... im sure people will give you ideas and help.

post up what you want to convey here and in pix'n'mix and we can all have a go designing one for you.

basically i would base the crest around the following

    Club colours
    parish name/meaning
    the club sports
    the parish history

Firstly, decide on the shape of it - round, 'crest' shaped etc.

Then get either famous landmark from your area, include a football, hurley, handball or whatever. Any type of history from your area can be includes.

Keep it simple though. Less = more.

Or even better, get the Juveniles in your club to design it. Give them a prize - jersey, or tracksuit or something. Creates inclusiveness in the club, and generates interest.

Yeah, I was thinking about putting in the Red hand of Ulster, a football (because we are only a football club), and a Lake with drumlins around it and a boat in the lake. Because the lake is fairly famous in the area and we are in the middle of the drumlin belt in Cavan and Monaghan. I am also thinking of using the shape of the new crests ie. Cavan and Meath's new crests...

Our nickname is the Brian Borus and the English meaning for the name of our town is "young love".

We don't have a crest at the moment...

Cheers for the the help lads...

but remember that the Red Hand is not really for Ulster... Don't go down the road of the new crests, they are aweful

decide on the shape, then try and fit in everything. Put the club name on a scroll below the crest, as Gaeilge.

I reckon you should have your crest the colours of your club, but in the middle have the image of the hat/cap of yer man on the right of the photo (if you think that encapsulates the spirit of the team).

Sorry. I'm not very imaginative. If I think of summat constructive, I'll tell ya.

you should definetely include that guys hat on the picture on the homepage,i just know thats a local landmark!!

find some crests of local stuff and steal the images off them. that always works. Something to do with the Kings of Breffni, the year ye were founded, and local landmarks etc. Whats Shercock in Irish?? U could get something outta that!!

And the hat must be included.

haha... I'm sure he'd love that!

Shercock in Irish is Searc óg.

I've got ideas in my head now. I'm going to use the Red Hand, A football with the founding date of the club under it, and drumlins with a lake and a boat in the middle of the lake...

All I've got to do is create it... does anyone know where I can get the shape of a new GAA crest from?
