    Is it possible to appeal a decision where the DPP refuse to prosecute? How would one go about it?

    There is some useful information at the FAQ above. Only people directed related to a case can seek to influence the DPP’s decision – i.e. victim, accused or their representatives. As regards your specific point, the FAQ says:

    “Can a decision made by the DPP be changed? It is possible for a victim or an accused person, or a member of their family, or their lawyer, doctor or social worker to ask the DPP to look again at decisions which have been taken. If a decision is changed it is usually because new evidence has come to light.”

    If the DPP won’t prosecute you can take a civil action for damages at your own expense. There is a lower standard of proof required in civil cases – the case needs to be proved on the basis of the balance of probabilities rather than beyond reasonable doubt.
