Your photo sux too. What were you doing, falling over when you took it?

I know this is for computer geeks and not photography nerds but the standard of photos on this gallery is often crap.

Yes my photo does suck, as u said i aint a photographer bt i was still working on that pc , next time i'll fall in a different direction which might please you, i use a thermaltake silent tower, it works nicely as i was having over heating problem previously with the water cooling system, leaking and faulty pump so i got rid of it, i am not a true computer geek though the only thing slightly gomputer geekish about me is that i use Suse Linux pro instead of window cause quite simply you have a full operating system which with Crossover office can install microsoft software, and have no probs with spyware, viruses etc.

    AntecP90a.jpg

Anyone know where I can get a window for an Antec P160 (like Ebonyks)?
Elara used to do them but are out of stock with no resupply date.
PC-Look want €50 inc shipping which is a bit much.

itdirect.ie will be able to get you one i'd say they could order it in or they could have one in stock they do a lot of antec stuff

Cheers Dubdvd. I think I was on their site but was put off that I had to actually call them up and talk to a real person. Ordered. €31 is about average

Your case looks deadly but the main reason I went watercooled was that all the fans were driving me mad. Wont that make a racket once you have filled all the holes?

Had a look at www.xcase.co.uk and they have em in stock. Going for £17.86 (+ £5 shipping), which comes out to approx €33.65. Don't know where to get cheaper at the moment. But as side panel windows go, this is very well made.

there will be all papst fans in the case when im finished with it and with all the fans on low at the moment its not that niosey ...the loudest thing beleive it or not is the small chipset fan on the mobo ...as you can see have the fans are'nt on ..im moving the psu from the back chamber and puting it into the mobo chamber and placing the aquagate in where the psu is now ,which still leaves me tons of room to play around with..when its all finished the 19" tft will be resting on top of the case at an angle ..and there will be a 5" tft in the drive bay plus im going to mod my own fan controller with a noob for the treble rad one for the three 80mm rear harddrive fans one for the top two..and one for the right front and rear 120mm fans ...the great thing is that it all comes apart the drive bays, mobo trays and so on..
and you can place any of the panels on any side you want as they are all the same size ...so i could be putting the top panel on the mobo side so ill have two extra fans over the mobo area ..either for intake or outtake..

p.s.And dont forget this is the rig that will be SLI active by midweek and will hopefully have me back on top the 3dmark05 rankings ...

As above, I swapped my Super Lanboy for a P160. Part of the deal was I would change the artwork on the right side of the case (see below) for this http://www.geocities.com/tmichellesteve/nuada2.jpg

    dscf00118ck.jpg

Rather then wipe it, would anyone like to swap a blank right side of a super lanboy for it? If so PM me. All I ask is that yours is clean/not scratched. In the Navan -> Blanch area.

Want to know how to post pics rather then links in your post?
While looking at Ebonyks post I saw his pics were hosted on Imageshack.us
There are loads of free photoblogging sites, just pick 1.
    Upload your photo there.
Use the insert image button and lash in the link to your pic on the other site.

Not to sure yet, have 2 red led 80mm fans on the way. The back of the drawer is open so there's plenty of air circulation. Have to do something about the HD's tho as there's bugger all space between them for heat to escape.

Should have it all fin by early next week so will post some better pics then...

Next on the agenda is to mod my Sonata..

Put a switch in one ot the bays to turn of the bright blue leds, they where anoying me when watching dvd's.

Great job on the desk/pc build

Plan is to put a window in it and two 120mm rads for a wc setup

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 165 ✭✭Prosta

    Thats nice Unk.
I put a switch on my desk like that to kill power cause my watercooling pump didnt shut down when the PC was off (till I got a 12v pump) but I knocked it off accidently many times. Beware

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 165 ✭✭Prosta

Heres an easy mod that looks good.

An illuminated vandal proof switch from maplins and a 4 wire cable that came with my sound card.

Solder/twist the 4 wires to the button. It should be marked with + and -
Plug it into the mobo. Done. No resistors or anything else required.

Heres my P160. Eventually got my window from IT Direct. "Yea we'll call you when it comes in" Lieing BASTARDS!!! Kept me waiting 2 weeks

    p160s8tp.jpg

    p160f9vh.jpg

Home made carry strap. Got it in the garden center in Atlantic €13

There are 2 clear plastic strips under the cd drive front panels. Will get a couple of blue LEDs for them.

Not crazy about the yellow sleeving on the PSU. Will change to either green or blue though UV blue is not that common.

I really like your mod pity you cant see the box but maybe thats better in some ways. Its nice and and well taught out only thing that would concern me is the heat factor. And I like the vandal proof power switch I might just get me one :P

oh that switch wasnt your idea :()

Buy all my mods on the internet. Even with shipping its cheaper.

That vandal switch was for my nephews PC. I ment to put it on mine but never got around to it. I cant put it on the p160.

Heat? See the 25 on the display? Thats CPU temp. The case runs at 23C.

P4 2.4 running at 3ghz. The green tubing is watercooled CPU, Vid and Northbridge. 120mm stealth fans front and back handle the rest

    Nice!
    How is that 120mm fan?
    Is it quiet?
Where did you get it? Not seen any locally

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 298 ✭✭CSSource God

Prosta you are looking at the fan on the side of the case(80mm). See the clear fan at the back with lights, that is a 120mm fan. Its monstrous, very powerful but im afraid is not that silent. Have it connected to mobo but cannot throttle speed down. Case has 2 by 120mm fans one at the front and one at the back. Beware can make the room very cold and may suck in small children and pets LOL :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 298 ✭✭CSSource God

Believe me that case is huge, dwarfes any ive put beside it, remember that is a large Samsung monitor beside so the scale of it is not that clear. :)

Ya the clear 120mm fan at the back with the LEDs - did it come with the case? If not then where?

Get yourself a fan controller (like mine) They are the biz. They only dim the leds a little on the lowest setting.

And if were compairing sizes mine (P160 above) is taller and longer but not as wide. We all know its girth thats important (snigger) ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 298 ✭✭CSSource God

Yep that comes with the case, then there is another(120mm) one in the front-comes with case also. Case is not quiet but runs extremely cool. my Athlon
3500 is running at 3800 using Abit UGURU with very little difference in temp only about 42c.

Just ordered some stuff from http://www.voyeurmods.com/

Getting a 120mm led fan (SilentX), some UV sleeving, a 20 to 24pin ATX connector, 2 UV cathodes (only $4.50) and a mouse. Shipping was $20 airmail.

They send loads of email on order progress. I got a 12v pump from them before and had no problems.

They also take Paypal - avoids all that CC verification stuff

I can definitely recommend VoyeurMods too. But careful - I got caught last week for import duty. SDS turned up and demanded €60 from me :(

What are they (or USPS) like for delivery charges/duty?
Do they mark the value on the parcel?
