Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Any wireless guru's out there? Ok heres the deal. I've installed a peer to peer home wireless lan in the house and have run into a wierd problem.

    Setup:

    PC1 in attic conversion.
    XP PRO
CNWL-311 IEEE 802.11b DSSS 11Mbps Wireless LAN PCI Adapter
    SSID assigned
    Channel 1
    Ad hoc network
    IP Address and subnet assigned

    PC2 in kitchen.
    XP PRO
CNWL-311 IEEE 802.11b DSSS 11Mbps Wireless LAN PCI Adapter
    SSID assigned
    Channel 1
    Ad hoc network
    IP Address and subnet assigned

    WEP not used for testing.

The two machines could not see each other so thought it was a signal problem. I did a bit of testing with a laptop and netstumbler. Here comes the wierd part. Powered up attic pc. Powered laptop in the kitchen. Connection straight away and good signal. Turned on kitchen pc and connection straight away. Turned laptop off and full peer to peer network from PC1 to PC2? Could VNC, map drives copy files etc. Number of reboots of both machines and each time the network was fine. Turned both machines off together and powered them up the next day and nothing. Started laptop and it seemed to be the catalyst to wake the PCI nics. For some reason the PCI nics can't negotiate a connection without the laptop. Anyone any ideas as can't think of anything else to do? I have an export from netstumbler if needed.
