Does anyone know of a way to encode a dvd for playback on a pda ?? Preferably free software ??

Hypotetically speaking of course, because "backing up" my own personal dvd's is illegal.

I know you can play .avi on pda's. I havent done this in years though so I'm not sure what software to use on the pda anymore. As encoding DVD's, try looking at http://www.dvdrhelp.com. I'm not sure whether you can shrink the file smaller but I would think the file would be around 700MB. Therefore you would probably need a bigger storage space.
Sorry cant be more of a help.

Kinoma producer for Palm is the only one I can think of off the top of my head.

There's probably some divx tools aswell.
