    howdy, im using winXP pro and i cant use any network tools at all, PING, TRACERT etc im on eircom flat rate anytime and have tried it with no firewalls running and with the M$ internet connection firewall turned off too.

    the problem is when i do a ping or a tracert it'll ping as far as the Server at me POP but then nothing

    do eircom have a firewall blocking me from using network tools?or is it cos im on isdn?

    No.

    Er, can you show us what happens when you e.g. ping www.boards.ie ?
    Maybe show us a tracert too to the same address.

    I thought eircom blocked all icmp packets?

    they did the last time i used it

    On some POPs they do, that's probably what's happening to him.
