    Pentium 2.66 ghz, 512 ddrram, ATI Radeon 9200, 56k.

I think I run it at 1204x768x16, have everything set to medium and shadows turned off.

Runs sweet, and I'm happy enough with graphic quality.

    Athlon 2200xp.
768mb Ram [was 1 gig but i took out 256mb in order to get a 3rd rig going]
    Radeon 9800
    Uber 56k.
Sound Blaster Audigy on Creative 5.1

Runs quite delightful at 1024x768 with everything at full and turned on. Running EAX3 on the 5.1 too.

Actually, just now for the laugh I turned everything up full and played with 63 bots. It was a bit laggy, but still playable.

    P4 2.8 @ 3.15--768MB ddr.Geforce 2 ti(Deadly---recommend me a budget card please--anyone using a 128 5200fx,can get one for €50.00)

40-50-fps with everything at medium and textures at low--nothing special turned on--no shadows,AA off etc.
Grass/flora looks shi*e.But can still have a decent game.

Fx5200 cards are crap stay away from them. I would almost guess that your gforce 2 ti200 is better then an fx5200. Or if the fx is better then the card you have it wont be by much. Only advantage of a 5200 is that is dx9 i belive.

    MB is abit nf7 v2-s
    Amd Barton 2500 @ 3000+
    1 Gig of Pc3200 ram
    40 and 160 gig maxtor HD's
ati9800 non pro clocked to pro spec

Play bfvn at 1024*768 full detail with all the works turned on. Runs great on me system.

Done, change the title if you want something that'll grab the right kind of views/responses.

    Dell Dimension 8100
    1.7GHz Pentium 4
    i850 chipset
    768MB PC800 RDRAM
    Turtle Beach Santa Cruz
    Asus 9800XT
    Chorus Cablenet Broadband 128/512k
WinXP Home, Catalyst 4.4, 2GB page file.

I'm running 1024*768 at medium for no real reason.
I use the less-than-fantastic 'miles audio' with a 2.1 setup.

Have you run anything like FRAPS to measure your frames?
Make sure the game and windows is defragged and a seperate partition for your page file is not a bad idea.
I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it as per EA directions and it suddenly started to kick a bit so I defragged repeatedly. I'm considering moving it to it's own partition or something but it has settled again.

Hey guys. has anybody with a GeForce4 card had trouble when overclocking and trying to play BF? I've tried to overclock several times, at different speeds and even the smallest increase in mhz, memory or core, causes the screen to freeze at random times. I've got all the latest drivers installed so i cannot pinpoint the problem. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 14,707 Mod ✭✭✭✭Dcully

Just to point out AFAIK Fraps doesnt work with BFV.
Use the "console.showfps 1" command in your console.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,525 ✭✭✭JustHalf

    I've played it on a PIII 800 with 256 megs of RAM and a GeForce 4 Ti4200.

It took a good while to load anything, but it was only a bit laggy.

    Main machine:

    AMD 2600+ @ 2600 mhz
    Radeon 9800XT
    Gig of ram
    Audigy 2

Runs perfectly smooth at 1280x1024 with everything on full and sound on EAX 3 or whatever BFV allows.

    Lappy:

    3ghz P4
    Radeon 9600m
    Gig of ram

Runs well at 1024x768 with everything on medium, but not as well as I would expect a machine of this spec to run, infact I was very dissapointed when I loaded it. Hopefully a patch and some new drivers will sort it out.

    Mercie that weird

1st system i had it running on was p3 600mhz,224 sd ram with 9200SE ran okish on 800x600, 2nd was 2ghz amd with 512 ddr and 9200 se and its running perfectly on 1280 res have 56k dont even bother going online.

The card is using i got for 60€ in PC World ,Jaguar have the 256mb version (mine 128mb) for 80 its a good card runs Far Cry at 1280 with no slowdown (cept 1 minor issue new Catalyst drivers fixed it).

Are you sure you have newest drivers and used Detonator Destroyer to remove all old ones, if there is an old DLL it will cause bloody havoc with games, but you would notice it on other games too.

    p4 1.9
512 pc2100 ddr with dets 56.72 [or wtf the latest are]
    gf4 ti4200 64meg

high graphic detail/ medium textures/ medium other

    high sound

    800x600x32

    medium-low everything @ 1024x768x32

gets laggy with a lot of action on screen...prone to actually freeze for a few seconds with only 30 bots & 2 human players.

    looks great tho...

Game runs fine but in MP I have a 90-100 ping to the navan server and I keep getting those 'Warning: You have a dodgy connection!' errors. I put that down to having sh1ty isdn with sh1ty utv? No fun :(

Try setting your connection to 56k in the ingame server browser, should reduce the amount of lag spikes.

    Amd 3000xp 64 bit
    512 DDR
    ATI mobility Radeon 9600 - 64 mb.

    I`m running it at 800x600 - 30bit.
    Graphics = Medium
    Effects = Low.

I havent actually tried a higher resolution or higher level details as of yet, gameplay is just to damn good to pick on graphics. I think if i do increase the reolution and detail, loading time will take ages.
