how to automatically run a windows script

Greetings

I have written a windows vbscript that copies a file from FolderA into multiple folders and then deletes the original file from FolderA. The script runs fine, but what I would like to do is ....... run the script automatically when a new file is copied into FolderA.

I have found windows Task Scheduler, but that only allows you to run the script at particular times. I would like to attach the script to a "hot folder" so that it will only run when a new file arrives!

Any ideas?

You could have the script constantly monitor the folder where the 'source' files live...then when one changes, trigger a function to copy the file to the other folder.

Thats what I'm trying to do! How do I get the script to constantly run and monitor the folder for new files??

Hi McGintyMcGoo, I looked into your problem a bit more, and I found this WMI Class:

This will raise an event when the target changes (i.e. a file changes or is added to a folder), and using this event, you can trigger an action (in your case to copy the file to another location).

ColmOT [MSFT] - Thanks for your help, but the boss told me that it would be okay to run the code every 5 mins or so!! So I wrote a 3 line batch file and set it to run every 5 mins using the task scheduler!!! Sorry about that!!!
