Location of @ and " on keyboard

    When I wish to use the @ symbol, I have to press shift+2 on my keyboard. Yet the symbol above 2 is the " symbol. What can I do so that I can use the symbol's as they appear on my Compaq keyboard for a P.C. running XP Professional?

    make sure your keyboard is set to brittish settings (irish)

    start >> control panel >> regional and language settings

    change it to Ireland

    oops sorry go to


    start >> control panel >> regional and language settings >> language tabs >> details button >> set to english (irish)
