Any traffic diversions this weekend near the Phoenix Park

    Does anyone know of any traffic diversions around the Phoenix Park this weekend

    The park itself is closed for most of the weekend. I imagine the backroads around the Strawberrybeds will also be closed. I imagine Blackhorse Road and Navan Road will remain open. Expect occassional disruption of routes approaching the park for VIPs and avoid Parkgate Street on Saturday

    MAY DAY ROAD CLOSURES

    Day of Welcomes - 10.00hrs on Friday 30th April 2004 to 18.00hrs on Sunday 2nd May 2004.
    Merrion Square West and Merrion Street Upper from Fitzwilliam Lane to Merrion Square South

    07.00hrs on Saturday 1st May 2004 to 24.00hrs on Saturday 1st May 2004.
    Merrion Square East and Fitzwilliam Street Lower

    07.00hrs on Wednesday 28th April to 18.00hrs on Monday 3rd May 2004.
    Merrion Square South

    Traffic will be diverted via Merrion Square North, Mount Street Lower, Warrington Place, Herbert Place, Baggot Street Lower and vice versa.

    European Fireworks Extravaganza
    19.00hrs to 22.00hrs on Friday 30th April 2004.
    Beach Road, Southbank Road, Whitebank Road, Pideon House Road, Strand Road, Londonbridge Road, Bath Avenue, Sandymount Road, Lansdowne Road (from Shelbourne Road to Herbert Road), Herbert Road, Claremont Road, Newgrove Avenue, Cranfield Place, Leahy's Terrace, Beach Avenue, Beach Drive, Sandymount Court, Seafort Gardens, Marine Drive, Seafort Avenue, Martello View, Lea Road, Gilford Avenue, Gilford Road, Serpentine Avenue, Sandymount Avenue, Merlyn Park, Ailesbury Road, Sydney Park, Ailesbury Park, Parade Avenue, St. Alban's Park, Merrion Strand, Adelaide Mews, St. John's Road East and Martello Wood.

    Southbound traffic on Sean Moore Road will be diverted via Bath Street, Irishtown Road, Bridge Street, South Lotts Road, Shelbourne Road and Merrion Road.

    Northbound traffic at the Merrion Gates will be diverted via Merrion Road, Shelbourne Road, South Lotts Road, Bridge Street, Irishtown Road and Pembroke Street. The Gardai will have local diversions in place.

    East Link Bridge
    In addition to the above closures, An Garda Siochana propose to close the East Link Toll Bridge to traffic travelling from south to north from 18.45hrs to 22.00 on Friday 30th April 2004. For further information on this closure contact 672 2109.
    River Road
    Will be closed from the junction at Ashtown Road to the junction at Ratoath Road for approx. 1800 metres between the hours of 09.00hrs and 17.00hrs (Monday to Friday) from Monday 11th August 2003 to Tuesday 4th May 2004. Traffic will be diverted Ashtown Road, Navan Road and Ratoath Road and visa versa. Pellestown House and Laburnum Cottage will be given controlled access.
