    Hi

Below is an outline of the proposed structure and minimal rules associated with the BSOP. Before I make them final I would like some feedback so we can ensure that they are fair to all.

    BSOP Tournament Rules & Structue

All heats and monthly finals are freeze-out tournaments with a starting stack of 3000 in chips. The makeup of chip denominations is open as people will have different poker sets etc. The only exception is that the lowest denomination is 25.

    Blinds & Blind Periods

All heats and finals must follow this format - there is no modification to this regardless of concensus between heats players - all heats must be run the same.

    Level 1 - 25/50 (30 minutes)
    Level 2 - 50/100 (30 minutes)
Level 3 - 75/150 (30 minutes) - before level begins -> no late entries, take in chips of missing players.

Break - take in the 25's

    Level 4 - 100/200 (20 minutes)
    Level 5 - 200/400 (20 minutes)
    Level 6 - 300/600 (20 minutes)

    Break

    Level 7 - 400/800 (20 minutes)
    Level 8 - 500/1000 (20 minutes)
    Level 9 - 800/1500 (20 minutes)

    Level 10 - 1k/2k (until the end)

    Rules

    1. Seating positions are drawn before the start of the game.
    2. Each hand starts with the first shuffle
    3. New blind increases start at the beginning of the next hand.
    4. Late players can join up to the START of level 3.
    5. Missing players are dealt in and anted away. Chips are removed at start of level 3.
    6. Misdeals (before flop) - all misdeals result in a redeal - this is not the casino norm but is the easiest way to implement and results in less issues.
    7. Misdeals (after flop) - any exposed cards are used as the next burn card. Please ensure all players are made aware of exposed cards.
    8. Out of order bets stand - including check, raise & call - player cannot change their bet.
    9. Heat is completed when there are 3 remaining players.
    10. If more than one player is kocked out at the same time then the amount of chips before the start of that hand determines placing.
    11. Please forward the names of all monthly final qualifiers within 72 hours of completion of the heat.
    12. All entry money (€25) is collected by the host on the night of the heats and forwarded to me. Winners of the heats get a place in the monthly final. Only the monthly final winners receive a share of the prize pool.
    13. €15 from each entry goes towards the monthly prize pool and €10 towards the World Series Final prize pool.
    14. The breakdown of prize pools is 50% (1st), 30% (2nd) & 20% (3rd).
    15. All monthly finalists receive BSOP World Series points - depending on their finish in the monthly final - these points are accumulated over the 8 month period to produce 9 World Series finalists.
    16. The World Series points are awarded to monthly finalists as so - 15pts (1st), 12pts (2nd), 10pts (3rd), 8pts (4th), 5pts (5th), 4pts (6th), 3pts (7th), 2pts (8th), 1pt (9th).
    17. Anyone who fails to show for a scheduled heat without giving adequate notice (48hrs) must pay their missed €25 monthly entry fee before they can be considered for subsequent monthly heats. Extraordinary circumstances will be considered on an individual basis.

I have decided to give each of the monthly BSOP tournies an unique name. This is so we can crown the winner in a more official way.

The prize for any heat is just the ticket to the monthly final, yes? But cash is collected from each entry on the night...

Might be an idea to merge the cash rules into your post too...

    Otherwise it all looks good.

    a few petty questions...
If someone picks up someone elses cards when it's clear to everyone else that they're picking up the wrong cards - must they sit out the hand or is it a misdeal?

From what you have here, I would guess that initial dealer is last position on the table as seating is randomly assigned. Would I be correct?

Quick suggestion though it might be a little late. On single table tourneys on ladbrokes, blinds rising are determined by hands played. This means that a uniform amount of hands are played between levels and makes slowplay and stuff like that pointless cos I have seen plenty people on the multi-table tourneys and in the fitz playing slow to hurt other people. Say, delaying hands when they've just cleared the blinds to ensure the next level of blinds will hit as many people after them as possible. The good thing about it early on is that you get one instance of each blind until people get knocked out and things start moving around a bit more. As well as that, without a dealer these things is always slower than they should be. If you start on the big blind you may not get to post at the next level cos of delays and stuff which is really annoying with quick rises in blinds and makes less hands played more expensive than they should be. It would make for a more consistent level of hands played across venues which seems to be an important factor here. Am I making sense?

Do you ever make sense ;)

Firstly - any issues with the deal - redeal.

Secondly, I think a timed game will ensure that the game doesn't drag on all night. We'll have the first on the clock and we'll see how it goes.

If a number of players are tied at 9th place in the rankings, how will it decided who takes the place at the Grand Final??
