What is the best video player for Windows, something that will play anything i throw at it, and that is good quality for sound and Picture, id prefer it to be free but i will pay for a good one? or is it possible to get an add on pack to make winamp play everything?

Quicktime Alternative is good, uses the GUI (Graphical User Interface of Windows Media Player 6) but allows you to custamize LOADS more then WMP6 ever did, also it plays Quicktime files without installing the apple software :D
Its released under the GPL also

This also will play RealMedia files WITHOUT the need to install RealNetworks very very VERY spammy software

BSPlayer is also a excellent program, alot of options and can be skinned easily, freeware same as above

For the above applications to play everything your best bet is to get something like the K-Lite Codec pack as it has *most* codecs you'll ever need in one easy to install exe
Just do a search on google for that...

imho Winamp sucks big time for playing videos
    :(

Use the alt packages that were posted alongside media player classic and it plays just about everything.
DVD's don't need a decoder to play either which is great.

i just use winamp 5.03a along with the k-lite codec pack.

some vids won't play properly unless the item before it on the playlist is running full screen... that's the only problem i've had with it so far:)
