BLACK REBEL MOTORCYCLE have just added Finnish duo, DEAD COMBO as special guests for their Dublin show at The Ambassador Theatre on Thursday, May 13th.

Based in New York, the already highly-rated pairing of Nuutti Kataja (vocals, guitar & moog) and Harri Kupiainen (guitar) will release their previously ltd. edition single, ‘You Don’t Look So Good’ on June 16th followed by their debut album on July 2nd on Trevor Jackson’s Output Recordings label.

Discovered by Jackson, the band made their debut for Output at the Output/DFA Records party at the CMJ Festival in New York in October ’03, and have since supported The Rapture, and LCD Soundsystem on tour.

The stunning video for ‘You Don’t Look So Good’ was produced by close friend and Hollywood legend, Abel Ferrara (King of New York, Bad Lieutenant)

Meanwhile, BLACK REBEL MOTORCYCLE CLUB’s third single from their widely-acclaimed ‘Take Them On Your Own’ album is ‘In Like The Rose’.

In addition, while in the middle of a rotating headline U.S. Tour with The Rapture, Black Rebel’s Robert Turner issued a statement earlier this month saying that they had decided to leave Virgin Records.

“Dear Friends, as of 5 days ago it's official, we are free free free from Virgin Records. We've been fighting to get out of our record contract for the last 6 months and are sorry we couldn't tell anyone about this but it was a very delicate thing that we didn't ever want to become ugly. There are many reasons we wanted to leave Virgin but instead of going into that, and digging up the past, we'd rather just look forward. We're going back to basics, when things felt right and we did things more ourselves. This is actually the greatest day in our bands somewhat short history. We have many plans for what we're going to do next and how and who with we're gonna release our records.”

“We're almost half way through this U.S. tour with The Rapture and it's going really well. Oh, and as a lot of people know being off a major record label can be crippling to tours and band's can lose all tour support and funding. But we never had tour support anyway and we've always found ways to get by, so we'll see you soon,” he continued.

An update on the band’s website said “it was an amicable split. The band are currently in a bidding frenzy with other labels and would like to reassure all the fans that they will continue to tour.”

Following their show at The Ambassador on Thursday week, May 16th BRMC’s next date on this side of the water is on the Main Stage at Glastonbury on the Sunday, June 27th.

They also play the V Festival in August and inbetween take to the road on the Lollapalooza Festival in the U.S. along with Morrissey, PJ Harvery, The Flaming Lips, Sonic Youth, Le Tigre, Gomez, The Polyphonic Spree, Modest Mouse, String Cheese Incident, and more.

Limited tickets for BLACK REBEL MOTORCYCLE CLUB with special guests, DEAD COMBO, are €30 (inc. booking fee) and are available from Road Records, Soundcellar and Ticketmaster outlets nationwide. All tickets from their original date are valid. Doors: 7.30pm.
