Diode/Transistor Symbols

Morning all, Im building a circuit that includes an NPN transistor, 2 x IR diodes (ir transmitter), and an IR phototransistor (ir reciever). The symbols on the circuit diagram ar as follows. Can anyone tell which leg on each component correcponds to which terminal on the diagram. ie which way round the diodes go etc. cheers
