    In Hell
    Legionnaire
    The Quest
    Timecop
    Universal Soldier
    Masters of the Universe
    Hidden Agenda
    Johnny Mnemonic
    Silent Trigger

Most of them are crap but highly enjoyable never the less.

In hell is one of the most enjoyable films Ive seen in the past six months. Its very differant to films Van Damme usually does and its directed by Ringo Lam who did City on Fire.

I spent about a year renting everything Dolph Lundgren and Van Damme had to offer and I found myself more entertained with their no brain action films (i'm talking about their newer ones) than by any other film i'd rented in a long time.

A particular favorite was Storm Catcher.

Though i'm not ashamed of it...

Christ there's loads of 'em. From Daredevil to loads of teen-coms. Though I think the one I'd be most ashamed to admit loving has to be Dirty Dancing. It's just not right for a heterosexual man to like that movie... *blush*

    Almost everything with Arnold Schwarzenegger

but one that stands out for me is .... Flash Gordon!

Its genious (or stupid, not really sure which) and Queen did the soundtrack and Brian Blessed was in it And Timothy Dalton. What more do you people want?

    Maximum Overdrive :o

I dont care what people say, cars coming to life and killing people is cool! Also it has a soundtrack provided by AC/DC :D.

Also Deep Rising. Incredibly cheesy but great fun nonetheless.

    Grease
Also all those 80's movies, like Ferris Bueller's day off. Classics.

Used to love Dirty Dancing too but watched it recently and realised the story is crap, I actually just love the soundtrack

Boy they don't make them like that anymore, a man who rides around on his motorbike with a doll on the back who is actually an egyptian princess transported through time. who eventually are married in a shop window by a gay shop assistant in Elton John specs...films these days suck ! ...'..and we can build this thing together, standing strong forever, nothings gonna stop us now...' best song at a movies end! There's just nothing wrong with it.

I'm glad to know I'm not alone in my love of Charlies Angels: Full Throttle. Prodigy/ Dirtbike scene people! The Worst Irish Accent In The World Ever! Exploding Demi Moore! Whats not to like?

I absolutely love the first two Brady Bunch movies. They're just great. I've never laughed so hard, so often. And they never get less funny. George Glass made me laugh so hard I thought I'd have to be hospitalised...

"Is this toothbrush approved by the American Dental Association?"

    oh kevin, ya little rascal

oh, and groundhog day is a very good film and widely considered to be as far as i know.
be proud to like it. i have it on vhs.

Anything with Steven Segal in it RULES! But they are on the "so bad its a comedy" level.

    Other than that:
    Armageddon
    Grease
Strictly Ballroom (I LOVE it but always get slagged for watching it)
They Live (anyone seen this? John carpenter?)

Why the shame? It's generally regarded, even by critics, as one of the best comedies of the nineties!

History of the World Part 1
    The comedy! :D

Sadly none seems to recognise the movie and Ive given up trying to explain it :(

    Pretty in Pink.

Along with most of John Hughes/Brat Pack stuff made during the 80s.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 947 ✭✭✭neXus9

I heard that was quite good. Saw it at a car boot sale, but knew the girl and didn't want to look like a bit of a puff by buying it.

Only saw the end of the breakfast club, so don't know if it's good or not.

Yeah, groundhog day was excellent. Empire magazine even saw it as a masterpiece.

Hmm... I can't say there's anything I'm ashamed of liking...

But I could add that I do have a love of Horror movies that are "So Bad They're Good!"

And in saying that, Jason X is an absolute masterpeice in terms of bad movies. I absolutely love the film, it's great! Jason in space!

    Plot summary from IMDB
From the dawn of man to the distant future, mankind's evolution (or lack thereof) is traced. Often ridiculous but never serious, we learn the truth behind the Roman Emperor, we learn what REALLY happened at the last supper, the circumstances that surrounded the French Revolution, how to test eunuchs, and what kind of shoes the Spanish Inquisitor wore.

Haven't seen that film in years, but the Spanish Inquisition "you can Torquemada this, you can Torquemada that" gag always sticks in my mind. And remember, it's good to be the king...

i can't believe someone has rocky III in here- it's a classic!

i really like vanilla sky, but everyone else hates it?

oh, and the reverse concept- is there ANYONE else out there that thinks fight club is the worst type of mindless style over substance trash ever put down on celluloid?

that's what i wanna see, a thread where people get to rip to shreds those movies that everyone seems to like, but on closer inspection really aren't any good.....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 620 ✭✭✭Kêrmêttê

Well don't I feel shot down in flames for mentioning Groundhog day?? :(
/me sobs quitely in a dark corner.
I only mentioned it cuz my mates tease me sumtin awful for having it in my collection... but i still looooooooooove it!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 898 ✭✭✭Winning Hand

Navy Seals, although I watch charlie sheen in anything. Became a convert after a cameo in loaded weapon I think it was when he was the valet and the black cop gives him a 20 to park the car
    'Got anything smaller?'-Charlie,
    'Keep it'-Cop
    'Got anything larger?'- Charlie
    What a legend

I thought godzilla was an enjoyable film, although the monster looked pretty crap.
