Boards users.

Ok, here's a poser for any of ye that are bored. How many boards users can ye come up with that have the same name as a ship mentioned in any of the TV series or movies?

To start off, I came up with Excelsior, Intrepid, hood, Pegasus, phoenix, Prometheus and star gazer.

I just spent about 5 minutes, I didn't do an exhaustive search or anything.

best i got was *NemesiS*,

and thats not a ship. A search of the 'trek forum got nothing either (apart from the fact that Dataisgod starts a *lot* of threads).

If you view the list of users with no posts then there are users called akira, eagle, excalibur, fearless and renegade. Perhaps non-posting users shouldn't count

The Crazy Horse is another, I remember every time the Enterprise got in trouble star fleet would always send that but it would always be "several hours away capt"

Idiotic technicality ahoy! How about cube and sphere considering they're called "the borg cube" and "the borg sphere" in the same way federation ships are called "the uss generic name #2"

In a similar theme theres someone called "situation room" presumably after the room on Enterprise...

Bizmark is the name of a famous German battleship of WW2.\

There was 3 Mods made ofr Star Trek armada 1 featuring a ship called Bizmark class and the 3 of them where very simmilar.
Either

1.There is a ship class caled Bizmark and i cant remember it
2.Some guy came up with a new non cannon ship design and it was coped and imporved/disporved upon by other people.

Well theres classes named after ships I think...like the Excelsior class, Intrepid class and the ship in Bridge Commander was called the Sovereign after the Sovereign class so classes and ship names are pretty much interchangable.

Other way around, each class is generally named after the first ship of that class.

interesting. i dont know whether they label the class and say they are going to design for example a new class called the sovereign class starship and then automatically the first ship is the uss. sovereign.

or they go we are developing a new ship class project alpha beta gamma what will the ship be called em sovereign ok its the sovereign class

i'd be of the opinion that its the former and that they pick they give the project a name

edit a quick google of a non-canon site shows this and the symbol is present in the encyclopedia
