hey guys with a n-gage i found a solution !!!!!!!!!!!
go to http://www.my-symbian.com and in it download any file manager u can find , i use fexplorer , any way , open ur computer just drag and drop the .sis or .jar file in the main directory of the n-gage the close and remove the cable ( the file manager wont work if connected )
then open the fexplorer and choose drive E which is the mmc , then when u open it u will find the .sis or .jar , open he file and it will be installed with no problems and with no extra $$$$$$

I got miene for 99 two and a half weeks ago. I went into Galway expecting yo pay 209 for it on vodafone. I went all around town looking for it at this price But most places were sold out. Then i went into Extravision i got for 99. Couldnt believe it .I spent the extra on a 128 MMC which i got for €70. Took it home but the USB wouldnt work . Then tryed my uncles PC still wouldnt work, so bought a MMC reader for €25. Got the mp3 going but discovered i had to convert my mpegs to real video to play them. Kind of anoyed that it wouldnt play anything over 3mb as i was hoping to some episodes of south park and wrestling matches on there.
Any one know any good sites for apps?

Have compatible 256 Mb mmc's at a good price but i cant register for the site, u have to give a valid uk postcode( got ones off the net and i they still say there not valid!). U cant even contact them without registering for the site!, It mentions eire in the shipping( £25 or something. but i think that might be next day delivery or something). I just wanna know how much it would cost to buy one 256 MB mmc and have it delivered to ireland the cheapest way. If anyone else has any luck in registering let me know how much it is.

And then theres www.7dayshop.com , only £20.99 for a 128mb mmc, with delivery at £1.95. I posted on some n-gage forum where these compatible and someone replied yes but all the n-gage forums seem to be full of 12 yr olds just posting bull**** about xbox emulators for the n-gage and so on , so i dont know if its worth the risk. I emailed the actual site selling them but they havent a clue.

For programs and stuff check out #The_Vault on efnet on IRC. You can get tv episodes and stuff. Tv episodes are only about 10mb's for a 20 minute show in .rm formart.

Theres a program called smartmovie which u can make full screen avi movies etc for your n-gage. Just spend a few minutes and google and u'll find out everything u need to know.

It can play pretty much every media format out there with the right tools, someone posted http://forum.mediaplace.nl/ earlier, read the faq section on there, has lots of useful info.

i want the ngage but there is alot contraversy about it size,battery life,making calls on the side gameplay dpad is weird to use, is it worth buying?? i know the ngage QD is out but it has less features doesn't it?

should i buy or give it a miss i currently have a nokia 3200

For €89 with €60 call credit..and an mp3 player to boot( and radio..small hdd..bluetooth etc etc)..well i think its a pretty unbeatable bargain ..and it plays games too...

as a phone its not great batrey goes pritty fast but look at it like this u get a mp3 palyer a handheld console and a real player for 99 which is pritty damn good

Does anyone know of an app that will do batch conversions of MP3 to AMR audio formats.
I've tried nokia multi media converter. While it works ot only does one at a time.

Its pretty sweet, 3 things that annoy me though,

1 : the side talking is crap
2 : Swopping Games is a pain
3 : NO USB SUPPORT FOR PC SUITE! whats the ****, it comes with a USB cable for gods sake, now i gotta go out and buy a bluetooth adapter

i gotta say after playing with it for a while though im not very happy with it.
Its too big.
Too fiddly.
Screen is too small.
Memory card is too small.
Wont connect properly by USB.

Only good thing about it is the radio as far as i can see.

I got a handsfree kit alright but its not my scene at all, ill get used to it. I think the screen is a fine size. It doesnt connect properly via USB cause you need A Blue tooth adapter,

How hard would it have been to allow it to connect properly via usb as well as bluetooth.

I'll give it a week or so and see if it grows on me

It connects fine here through usb, just appears as a hard drive in windows explorer, to install stuff just copy over the sis files and in the n-gage load em up.

There are several other filemanagers and apps out there apart from the pretty crappy nokia suite..try searching on the web..a good starting place the board mentioned earlier.

Just installed "smartlauncher" ..what a difference..very very nice little enhancement for the n-gage.

It makes a desktop of your n-gage screen ..with clickable icons..a LOT more intuitive than clicking your way through endless menues...search for it

just got my 256mb mmc from www.ngage-user.com today. It works perfectly, phone picks it up no problem. Just installing loads of 'stuff' :P on it now
