hairline scratches

    Anyone any tips for removing these from a metallic finish motor?

    ligth scractches on most cars should come out with a good polish, Mer is excellent stuff. jsut leave your polish on for a few mins and wipe off well. don't go blobbin on paint like the previous owner of me new car did, it looks worse than the scratch, either do it lightly or not at all

    Also, if the scratch is still not covered up after the polish, try using a tiny bit of touch-up paint on the tip of a paper clip and place it very gently into the scratch. As was already said, you don't want a big blob over the scratch :)
    Small bottles of touch-up paint can be bought from main dealers for about 10 Eurons. Buying from the dealer is better, as you can be sure the paint will match the car colour exactly. However, if the car is very old, you might have to go to a motor factors (e.g. Consort)

    If we talking about really small scratches then

    good polish should take car of it


    Touch ups look brutal on clear lacquer coats and would be very very last option
