Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My #1 is easy - "Rules of Engagement". I loathe this film with a passion, a fierce intense burning desire to see all prints of it destroyed. I almost get ill thinking about it, such is my ire.

#2 - "A Beautiful Mind" - What a pile of utter ****, splattered out of the jumped up little hack that is Ron Howard. A cringe-inducing performance from Russell "Gimme an Oscar" Crowe, with an insipid script and a score that makes me want to cry for the headache splitting open my brain.

#3 = "Alien: Resurrection" - As far as I'm concerned, there's only three movies in the Alien franchise becuase this faecal Hollywood output has no place in the legacy. It felt completely wrong on every level - a script laced with too much humor, a feeling that was too glamorous for the gritty Alien world, a resurrection of a character whose death in the third movie felt so damned right.

There are plenty of other exceedingly crap movies but the ones I cited were meant to somewhat decent, and that's why I hate them all the more. *Spit* You go to hell bad movies! You go to hell and you die!

    Jaws 3

I REALLY REALLY hate that film. I know it was designed to be one of those "3D experiences" but thats no excuse. That bit at the end where they blow Jaws up and an ACTUAL PAIR OF JAWS springs at you from the screen? Cringeworthy stuff of the highest order. Even Jaws: The Revenge seems like oscar worthy film-making compared to this dung.

an unfinished stanley kubrick film... finished off by spielberg

    sounded like a dream!

    o how wrong i was!

depressing, meandering, pointless and they were its good qualities :(

Wow I am finding it hard to find one - I really am.
Firstly there are some really suprising films here - Black Hawk Down is excellent. So is Alien Resurrection.

    But the worst:
Without a shadow of a doubt: Freddy Got Fingered Pure utter crap!

If you want a really bad film, something so bad that it is actually good - any Troma film - Toxic Avenger being one. Cheesey, Cheap, Bad acting, no special effects!

i had the pleasure of watching Bad Taste last night

my god it was horrible in a stupid way but funny in parts but mostly stupid

how Peter Jackson got the LOTR gig after that film i'll never know

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,689 ✭✭✭orangerooster

I must admit im very surprised by Black Hawk Downs inclusion-I quite liked that film. But for the worst that was just bad and not funny id have to say either A Beautiful Mind or any of that oscar baiting thrash with names like "When the slow wind wavers"-they really annoy me.

Stars Jennifer Lopez. The most painfully boring film I have ever, ever seen

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,396 ✭✭✭✭Karoma

The Cell ... straight from the Hollywood Film Churn (Tool: whereby you throw in piece of every film already done-and get a "new" product)
and Waterworld (Possibly bias because i heard about the budget beforehand..so so not worth it..)

ughhh just remembered when i was stuck in hell watching 'Shadow Of A Vampire', would have walked out after 30 mins were it not for the fact that i was on a first night date. would rather have root canal than go through a movie like that ever again.

I would rather watch every movie mentioned in this thread 10 times each then have to watch 13 again....

Pretty much everyone's just choosing films that are popular but they think are ****. The really really terrible films don't even make it that far.
Alien From L.A. is the worst film ever made, I'm fairly sure. It's just so so so so so very painfully terribly awful. I saw it on an episode of MST3K, and not even that could save it from the absolute misery. The pain, the pain of it all....

I was introduced to the 2 worst films in existance because of MST3K. "Manos the hands of fate" and "Red Zone Cuba". They were really good episodes of MST, but dear god did they suck! You really have to see these to believe them. I now benchmark all crappy films by these.

**** film alright but I have to say that scene with McCoy at his fathers deathbed is one of the few honestly poweful and emotional pieces of Trek that I've ever seen.

interesting, i enjoyed star trek five more so then a number of the other films particurlarly star trek 1 we should really take this debate elsewhere

This is stupid. How can The Matrix 2 and 3 and Lost in Translation be some of the worst films ever made?

Do you honestly think they are worse than Spice World or one of those Power Ranger movies?

Um, because during the aforementioned films I was so bored by the sheer numbness of the experience and the plodding nature of all three that I had to check my watch at least a dozen times during each just to know how much there was left to endure. That is not a good sign. Also after they were all over I came out of the cinema wishing I'd never watched them in the first place. Literally a rare case of the 'You wasted 2 hours of my life' experience.

I haven't seen either of those two (and despite their terrible reputations) I'd happily propose right now that I couldn't enjoy SW or PR any less than I did M2+3 or LiT.

My own opinion of ST films in order of crapness

    1. Insurrection (9)
    2. Nemesis (10)
    3. The Final Frontier (5)
    4. The Motion Picture (1)

That said tho I still to this day enjoy that funky bass guitar note that's all over ST1 *bwang*

Kiss of the Dragon, starring Jet Li. Actually, the sheer crap-ness of it did make everyone in the cinema laugh several times.

Also, the One. What a pathetic Matrix rip-off, which such a stupid, illogical storyline!

    Scary Movie 2

All four were suicide inducingly bad. In fact the prospect of slitting my wrists with a rusty razor blade is preferable to watching any of them ever again.

Ok MST3K was a show about horribly made movies but if you want to look at films that may or may not have been popular and still were horrible that most likely would have ended up on MST3K then it would have to be any films made in the 1950s about animals or bugs getting into nuclear waste and becoming giant scary monsters out to get the world. Those movies have to be the worst ever made...and too bad MST3K isn't around anymore...more bad movies were 1980s scifi/fantasy movies which didn't even have a real plot line because they were basically trying to be porn without being porn
