Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Great result and a great boost to the goal difference to boot. Lets hope that we can beat Newcastle next week or that they lose their game in hand.

Gerrard is just phenomenal and Heskey had a great game today. Fourth place is more or less a certainty. Newcastle should be bollixed by the time they get to Anfield next weekend, after playing Marseille away last Thursday, Wolves tomorrow and Southampton during the week I can see a few minor injuries arising, hopefully.

If fourth place is is a certainty how come Newcastle winning their 3 last games will guarentee 4th place ?

I said more or less a certainty.

Liverpool’s recent form is excellent and Newcastle have lost their last two games. Newcastle’s away record is not exactly spectacular and their final two games are away. Whereas, Liverpool are on a high, morale in the Newcastle camp may be suffering due to the recent losses and injuries to key players, also their timetable is rather crammed to say the least. Most importantly, I’m biased.

Was a great win. Why can't Heskey play like that every game? Although he still did most of the things that annoy the crap out of me, he also did some good work for once, and that was a great pass to Owen and Emile also took his goal well.

IMO, with the players currently in our squad, that was our best starting eleven yesterday. And it showed.

Here's to Carl Cort banging in a hat-trick against his old club today! :D

Villa slipped up yesterday too, hopefully that's them out of the picture now and we can go into the Newcastle game needing only a draw.

Although, Liverpool playing to win over these last few games has produced their best football of the season, so perhaps going into the last match needing only a draw isn't something to hope for! :)

a match report from a "sunday paper"

    The Sunday Moron
    by Sally Slapper

In what had been billed as 'the biggest game since that one with Carlisle' Bloose boss Stevie 'Grobbelar' Bruce hailed a ninety-minute tour de force by his royal blue charges yesterday.

'We knew it would be difficult getting stuffed by the most pisspoor Liverpool side since Macmillan was in Number 10, but the lads dug in and gave me 10%.

'I think we proved a point today and, more importantly, gifted Liverpool three.

'It was touch and go at one point but when the news filtered through from St Mary's we knew exactly what we had to do.

'At 0-0 you could sense the tension but once the first goal went in it gave everyone a lift and relaxed the crowd.

'I'm pleased for the fans more than anything who've been magnificent, even when we've lost, and never more so than today!'
