Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Was just wondering if someone had the technical specs on these vodaphone cards - specifically the one they market for internet use. I have checked out their site here and they don't seem to have any REAL information about the cards - just the marketing spiel.

Can these cards be used to access a local wireless network also?

    data via the GPRS network

from the page, this means its like using a mobile phone signal. It think its just a branded Nokia D211 althought that also has wireless B built in.

The branded mobile connect cards are GPRS only and not 802.11b, unlike the Nokia D211 cards. The branded 3G mobile connect cards (soon to be on public release) are 3G and GPRS - not wireless which is a shame but these are great cards.

Using them is just like having a phone and a cable without the hassle of having the phone and cable!

the current Vodafone card only offers GPRS, might get better flexibility from one of the other cards mentioned in the linked post (i.e. that offer GPRS, HSCSD and WiFi (802.11b)

as BigMoose mentions the next version of the Vodafone card yet to be launched here offers 3G (UMTS) and GPRS...

A second version of the 3G will seemingly be launched afterwards with Wi-Fi built in.

Arse! I've just ordered another one - should have waited as WiFi and 3G would be a truely great card.

Option mentioned before ITU Telecom World last October they would unveil a WLAN(WiFi)/UMTS/GPRS data card for Swisscom Mobile, but in the end they only released about their own WLAN(WiFi)/GPRS Globetrotter and the UMTS/GPRS card for Vodafone
