    JESSE MALIN & Full Band
Plus Special Guests (also from New York), WHITE LIGHT MOTORCADE
    Irish Dates, May ‘04

Next Friday, May 21st ’04 – The Limelight, Belfast.
Next Saturday, May 22nd ’04 – The Village, Dublin.

Following his recent special acoustic show at Whelans and his appearances with the Counting Crows at their three sell-out shows at Dublin’s Olympia Theatre earlier this year, New Yorker JESSE MALIN returns to Ireland next week for two eagerly-anticipated shows, complete with full band.

They play next Friday, May 21st at The Limelight in Belfast and next Saturday, May 22nd at The Village in Dublin.

The shows coincide with the release of Jesse’s brand new second album, ‘The Heat’, which is out June 11th and is preceded by the single, ‘Mona Lisa’ (out June 4th).

Malin recorded the album in his native New York City and enlisted Ryan Adams to guest ("He plays a great lead guitar") along with Pete Yorn, Fountains of Wayne guitarist, Jody Porter and former Smashing Pumpkin, James Iha, who co-owns the Stratosphere studio where the album was recorded.

‘The Heat’ is the follow-up to Jesse’s Ryan Adams-produced debut solo album, ‘The Fine Art of Self Construction’ (the only album Ryan has chosen to produce so far – he also features on guitar on the title track).

The new album finds Malin backed by his touring band, a working relationship that had clicked so well on the road that he wanted to bring that sound to the album. "I wanted to make more of a sonic record, a band record," he told Rolling Stone last month. "We just played like we do live without ever going too metal or screamo. We've been doing this almost three years, and some of these songs have already been worked out on stage. I like to road test material and get stuff dirty for people before recording it."

‘The Heat’ is already enjoying great reviews, including five stars from UNCUT: "The Heat is all genuine passion, brimming with energy, anger and great tunes sandwiched between the dense guitars. Malin is a fearless storyteller, too, picking at the scabs of New York's seamy underbelly."

Joining him on his twenty-date UK & Ireland Tour are fellow New Yorkers, WHITE LIGHT MOTORCADE. The four-piece of Harley Dinardos (vocals), Mark Lewis (guitar), Steven Slingeneyer (drums), and Tommy Salmorin (bass) comprise the garage rock of White Light Motorcade.

Their debut album, ‘Thank You, Goodnight’ was produced by Brad Jones (Josh Rouse, Jill Sobule) and emerged to widespread praise on Octone Records (also home to Maroon 5) last year. Their live performances have added to further to their reputation having last made the trip across the Atlantic for a UK Tour with The Donnas.

Tickets for Jesse Malin with full band at The Limelight, Belfast are £15 stg. (inc. booking fee) from Ticketmaster and usual outlets.

Tickets for The Village in Dublin are €18 (inc. booking fee) and are on sale now from Road Records, Soundcellar, Ticketmaster and usual outlets nationwide. Doors: 8.00pm, Garda Approved ID Essential.
