Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just to tell you, if you plan to use one make sure you have a USB 2.0 port. If you dont you will only be able to transfer at 11mb/s or so, the maximum USB1.1 speed.

*shrug* was considering purchasing one or two- for very small lan. I don't like the idea of not having an attachable arial..

If your wlan is within a house or other fairly small area it will be fine without an attachable aerial.
I have a netgear 802.11b one of these (purchased from syke here on boards :)) and it does exactly what it says on the tin.Connects to a wireless AP that's about 20 feet away (with a few walls in between) and gets fairly decent speeds. It came with a USB extension cable so you can use that to position it for best reception.

You might be best to just get a wireless PC card for your laptop slot. Will keep your USB port free and you wont be limited by the speed of your USB connection.

Also, the PC cards are usually more powerful then the USB dongles, though do correct me on that if im wrong. At the moment im outside and about 100 feet or so away from my access point, going through about 2 8" thick walls or so.

Nice to be outside in the sun.
