SKA LEGEND NEVILLE STAPLE PLAYS CRAWDADDY ON SATURDAY 15th MAY

Crawdaddy will play host to the toppermost rankin' reggae show in town on this Saturday May 15th as original ska rude boy Neville Staples makes his way to Dublin's newest live venue for an intimate show.

To help him out he'll have a 7 piece band on the road with him, one which includes former members of 2 Tone legends Bad Manners. In the course of a 90 minute plus show, they'll be running through highlights from the great man's career, from his early days with The Specials and Fun Boy Three right up to his forthcoming new solo album, set for release next month.

Staples, of course, was a member of The Specials, who started the whole 2 Tone movement in 1979 with their classic single 'Gangsters'. Over the next few years, they had a number of infectious, danceable chart hits like 'Too Much Too Young' 'A Message To You Rudy' and the legendary 'Ghost Town' ( which so memorably substituted for our national anthem in a classic episode of 'Father Ted'!!).

He formed Fun Boy Three with other specials members in 1981, having more hits with 'The Lunatics Have Taken Over The Asylum' and the poptastic Banaramama collaborations, 'It Ain't What You Do, It's The Way That You Do It' and 'He Was Really Sayin' Something'. He moved to california a few years back to witness the 2Tone revival that was sparked by the likes of No Doubt for himself, and has busied himself with becoming the greatest entertainer on the reggae circuit.....
