Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Wolves' veteran defender Denis Irwin will retire after the final match of the season against Tottenham.
Former Manchester United star Irwin has spent the final two years of his career at Molineux and the club will make a presentation after Saturday's game.

Wolves boss Dave Jones told the club's website: "Denis deserves a standing ovation for what he has achieved.

"Denis is a super pro and I'm sure the other players here will have learnt a lot from him in the last two years."

Jones added: "Someone said to me this week that Denis looked like he was doing his first-ever week of training not his last. He is that committed."

It is that sort of desire and discipline that has seen Irwin collect every available club honour.

The 38-year-old Irishman claimed seven Premiership titles during his 12 years at Old Trafford, as well as the Champions League.

Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson said: "Denis' career has been one of absolute distinction.

"His greatest years were here and I was fortunate to get him for what everybody would consider a steal at £625,000.

"It is great for Denis to be able to look back on the career he has had, and he was never anything less than a fantastic professional."

He had a great career, I especially remember his goal for Ireland against Belgium in the WC play-off

he was a great defender for Man Utd buthe wasnt playing as good at wolves. Its time to let the younger players take over now but he will not be forgotten.

A real legend and deserving real respect. Also one of the fitest and most dedicated men to play in the premiership, which explains why he could still play to a good (albeit diminished) standard at 38. You'd struggle to find a football player/coach/pundit who would have anything but good to say about Irwin.

Respect! (I wonder if he fancies coaching at Wolves?)

    Mike.

One of few true Profesionels of the game , a great player and any young player should have looked to him as a role model more than your Beckham's and Owen 's .
